TPTK. That's it.
No Limit Hold'em CryptoLogic ($50NL)
Converted by FTRConv
6-handed
StacksBB: $63.35
Hero: $42.75
UTG+1: $48.99
CO: $71.70
BTN: $49.75
SB: $69.14
Pre-Flop: Hero is UTG with A K
Hero raises to $2, UTG+1 folds, CO folds, BTN folds, SB folds, BB calls
Flop:($4.25) 4 A 9 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3, BB calls
Turn:($10.25) 3 (2 players)
BB bets $5, Hero calls
River:($20.25) Q (2 players)
BB bets $16, Hero folds
Final Pot: $20.25
And follow up question: what wins a straight or a flush?

as played, i don't fold this river. why don't you think BB isn't betting the turn to prevent YOU from drawing to a flush?

My main question is what's going on here? I mean why check/call the flop and then lead out the turn?
What's changed between the flop and turn? Why has he gone from passive to aggressive. Is the small bet to block as you suggest or trying to get me to raise?
Why is there a half-pot bet on the turn, giving fairly good odds and yet a much more solid bet on the river?
Is this Ax which hit it's kicker, or AQ going for pot control until the river gave 2p?
So I have no decent read here on what opponent has. What I see is a fair amount of money going in and me holding TPTK. Suddenly I'm unsure, I've been paying off too many of these hands recently, but on the other hand folding is so bloody weak. Sure I think I should have raised the turn, but now that's too late.
So basically doubt and insecurities creeping in here and I'm quite possibly spooking myself out of decent enough pots.

Why would you push river?
After raising the turn, and villain checks river, we're 99% sure villain doesn't have shit. I assume AJ and any other hand we beat would fold the river. Where's the value from pushing? Or will AJ call because of stack sizes? Wouldn't he fold turn?
