I am sure you are going to say: "Just bet turn"
I was going to try to control the pot size, but I felt he was weak with $2 bet, so I raised it to a pot sized bet. I should fold to his min-reraise, yes? Do you call after A hits. I assume yes in case his two pair was counterfeited.

I got the info I wanted on the turn and failed to use it to escape. Correct? Any advice or was this just a case of taking a read too far.
Check/call then?

Against this type of player, there's no imminent need for pot control. Just bet the turn for value. Your hand is best a lot of the time, but it needs to be protected. I'd probably dump it to the min 3bet on the turn, but river is played fine. Also, I would probably reraise preflop against this guy.

Pre-flop, I'd either re-raise or fold. A T is difficult, because when the A comes on the flop, you're stuck thinking, "Does his play suggest AJ or A9???" Short-handed I probably wouldn't fold A T, but sometimes I just don't feel like playing that game.
As is, the kickers that were beating you pre-flop are still beating you, and by the turn, 3 of the kickers you were beating have paired-up, not to mention the possibility of him have 8 7 or a set. Yes, I think the reraise after your checkraise does suggest that you're beat.
Did he make his straight, then throw out a blocking bet on the river, worried about a full-house?
If you're willing to call the turn reraise, may as well call the river as well.

just call him down all the way. If he's laggy then you want him to bluff.

I think you gotta bet turn because that card helps all kinds of draws along, not that it's likely he holds any of them. But c/r is uneccesary, and you could've got the same info that you got by leading out on turn. If he's really as strong as you think he is, he'd do the same regardless of if you opened or if you c/red him. As played, river call is good.

I don't like the pre-flop re-raise here. What if I get called and an A hits the flop. Do I just give up the hand? If my opponent is not a LAG and I'm OOP, is this better to fold pre-flop?
For the results oriented:
Villain hit his set on the turn.
Hero doesn't show [ Tc, Ah ] three of a kind, aces.
Vermin_74 wins $52.25 from the main pot with a full house, Nines full of aces.

No! C-bet and take it from there. You say you don't like rerasing preflop because you assume if you get called you will be dominated. While this may be true for some players, it definitely isn't true in general, and especially not true against a bad lag. But more importantly, you are retaking control of the hand by RR'ing pf, and forcing him make a hand, and as a result you take the pot down w/o showdown a lot of the time. This is why 3-betting pf is such a +EV move, and you don't need a premium hand to make it work.

It depends. Against a nit, I fold w/o hesitation. But keep in mind he is opening from CO, so even a non-LAG's range should be at least somewhat wide.
