So my steal fails here but I catch a decent flop then make trips...but I don't really like how I ended up playing post flop. what would you do? also, call or fold river as played?

The SB is tag - 23/12/aggro after 70 hands, and seemed to be recently playing back against me since I was stealing and cbetting him a lot. I am prob seen as a lag, but was playing a lot tighter lately - had folded everything the last 2-3 orbits trying to recover my image.

I have no post flop reads, since we haven't made it to the turn yet - he raised me on the flop once or twice and I folded, and he folded a lot to my cbets.

No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1

Stack sizes:
UTG: $57.15
CO: $93.35
Hero: $110.20
SB: $142.20
BB: $104.70

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with 6 5
2 folds, Hero raises to $4, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: 7 3 5 ($9, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6, SB calls.

Turn: 5 ($21, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $10, SB calls.

River: J ($41, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $20, SB raises all-in $122.2, Hero???

about $70 into a $220 pot if I call

I ended up using all 15 seconds and folded. his line made no sense to me...maybe trips/boat, AJh, busted draw, but wouldn't a tag bet or raise most of these hands on the flop? maybe not a 5 or a draw. I dunno...

Yea after looking again I definitely agree about calling the river, but with betting the turn strong, is the plan to call a check/push?

what hand are you worried about our friendly neighbourhood tag having after calling a pf raise and check-calling on a connected flop and turn?

if he has been starting to play back at you, then you must call that river after two bets that may be interpreted as weak

I don't totally get betting the turn strong, can someone explain why?

Im thinking the point is to get more protection and value, and to not appear weak. But on the other hand won't he fold weak hands to (weak overpair, draw, ace high) to two strong bets, but call 1/3 pot?

Try to come up with a hand you can beat other than bluff.

How likely is it that he's bluffing with a missed draw?

you want to bet more on turn so the pot is bigger on river. this way you can value bet for more.

I got that, but if someone appears weak/drawing, and not the type to call two strong bets in a row like that, I'm thinking it's better to bet 1/2 pot...unless I'm bluffing (and metagame doesn't matter).

agree/disagree?

23/12s (if they multi-table) don't play a whole lot of hands from their SB in spots like this.
