Original raiser is tag, other is unknown. I don't want to call here OOP, but I think I lose value by folding.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $100
UTG+1: $108.75
CO: $40
Button: $154.30
Hero: $106.70
BB: $128.95

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with Q A
UTG raises to $5, UTG+1 folds, CO calls, Button folds, Hero raises to $16

I usually dump this OOP.

TAG + UTG raise = range that crushes AQ.

Having said that if you are going to play it a reraise is probably best but its basically a bluff. I cant think of a situation (barring 2 pair+) that youre taking this to showdown so Id prefer it with 67s.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

I disagree, I think KQ, AJ, ATs, and several lower PP are in his range here.

A _nit's_ raising range UTG crushes us, but we are ahead [it is close though] of a TAGs range:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 47.5735 % 43.98% 03.59% { 22+, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, ATo+, KJo+, QJo }
Hand 2: 52.4265 % 48.84% 03.59% { AQo }

I dont really think I would go so far as to say that if we are 3betting here it is a bluff because I would say that we could get to showdown a decent amount of the time here with good pot control.

Anyways, we are going to be ahead of a TAGs range here, but as you pointed out, that still doesnt always make a call a great play. We are OOP so itll make the hand harder to play when we arent the preflop aggressors; however, with a good postflop game it should still be +EV. Basically, I think folding here is too weak tight [although sometimes I would], but prefer 3betting over calling. If I were to guess Id probably 3bet here ~60% of the time, call 30% and fold 10%, those are all estimates but are jprobably pretty accurate.

In the specific hand, your raise is very small which I dont really like. PF I really think all raises should be PSRs, so here thats what I think it should be. I also think we should be mixing it up by also doing this a certain percentage of the time with small PPs, big PPs, SCs, and some random trash.

In short, this is fine and I would say standard [barring your raise size].

Yea I had a lot of shit going on when this happened and the timer was running out... I'd probably raise this to around $20.

When I say tag I mean 24/12... not a nit.

I think I dump here. Three-betting lacks pot control that AQ needs. Calling is clearly a spew.

We are ahead of a "standard" tags range here, how is calling spew? If you open utg, have an LP caller and are 3bet from the blinds, what hands do you call with?

No way! You have tons of value against most hands, and you're only way behind AK and QQ+, and I think your hand is fairly easy to play OOP, better than reraising. I don't like OP's 3x raise here, if you are going to squeeze this then at least 20, maybe even 24. I don't consider this raise a squeeze play and if you're called you have to put in a hefty continuation bet OOP without any idea of what your opponent has.

I don't mind a call here at all, and i don't see myself ever folding this hand.

By NEVER calling here, you take out many +EV options that coudn't have by Reraising.

Just call. You have a pretty good hand, but you'll be out of position for the rest of the hand, and the UTG tagg could be strong.

As they say, finding good spots to squeeze is one of those required skills to be beating higher stakes, so very nice, atleast the effort :P

Ill ask the same question I asked Iowa, If you open UTG, have an LP caller and are then 3bet out of the blinds from a player who has not gotten out of line [which Harry definitely fits the profile of from my limited play with him], what hands are you calling here with?

I just had a similar hand, UTG makes it $3, moron super fish Limpy McLimpLimp in the CO coldcalls. folded to me in the BB with AQ.

I made it 20. I think that was overkill, but I'm not sure what to do in that situation.
