I'm starting to realize that, even though there are a lot of players capable of bluffs, there are just some spots that your opponent is almost never bluffing and these spots need to be recognized.
I want to just list them off, and if you can think of it a spot that has a high bluffing frequency:
Almost never a bluff: When a regular c/c the flop OOP, checks the turn, and leads a blank river.
High bluffing/weak hand frequency: a small lead on the flop and turn good textured board by a bad player.
Agree or disagree? lets all try thinking of some.

- Villain c/c raggy board, c/c paired low turn card then open pushes river. Boat...?
- Villain c-bets drawing flop then pulls off stack-a-donk line on brick turn...
- Tight villain opens EP preflop, then check/calls single broadway. Then he check/pushes brick turn and I shit my pants regardless of having bottom set.

I check-raise bluffed the river yesterday and I'm pretty mediocre, but thanks for the compliment!

I was thinking the same thing.. I agree with ISF, that this can definitely be a bluff.. either a float or check calling flop with a draw with the intention of betting the river if you check through the turn, regardless of if the draw hits or misses.

c/c flop followed by c/r turn is almost never a bluff...in fact, it's almost always a monster IMO

dunno about that....this line is the defacto i have the best hand line, which means it's probably one of the better lines to bluff.

Once you're against opponents who will lay down to it, yes, I agree. Part of why it became the defacto I have the best hand line is that people don't tend to lay down to it that often. I'd be very surprised if enough people lay down for it to be a good bluff below 2/4. As to 2/4 and above, I'll rethink if need be when I move

deep stack NL has made that line a lot less effective. previously with 50BB stacks, you're priced in to call with any hand that got you to the turn. with 100BB, it's possible to get away now.
as for spots that are never bluffs, i actually don't really pay attention to that stuff :S, i tend to only put the opponent on hands when they bet big or raise me.
