Villain is a solid, winning tagg of the 22/11 variety, but it's been quite a while since I've played with him. Not sure what he thinks of me.

This is my first hand at the table. Thoughts?

Could you give a quick stab at what you think good boards for this would be?

Renton will become famous soon enough
def. spewtastic.

we're getting shown a set a lot here. The coordinated flop isn't relevant since the only hand in his perceived range you would have is TT. He's probably willing to gamble that a scarecard 6 or T doesn't show up, since he knows you are a nit and doesn't want to risk folding your AA/QQ.

If the money were deep enough, you could c/r bluff all in, but the shallow money is promoting honesty in this hand, and after calling that flop bet he's probably gonna call your turn bet with any overpair.

Also, it's your first hand. I find that my opponents are more likely to think I'm bluffing if I suddenly turn up and push my first hand or two - it's as if it gives you an immediate maniac rep and they act accordingly.

this is not a good one to fire a 2nd barrel, hes not calling the flop with something like QJ hoping to improve

I agree that this hand is spew and it's not a good spot to fire a second barrell (particularly when it's allin and he doesn't have the implied thread of facing a 3rd barrell), but I don't agree with your reasoning. This is absolutely a board where somebody would afraid to slowplay a monster on, although I'm certainly not saying people wouldn't.

For the results oriented, he folded.
