Some NL50 6-max hands

I'm having fun (read: sarcasm) at Party NL50 6-max. After running at 16ptbb/100 at 25NL over a few thousand hands and moving up, I ran -8ptbb/100 at 50NL over almost 3000 hands. I'm just doing some leak-plugging. (this is part of the discipline exercise in poker etc.)

Hand 1:

This is a weird hand. I river 2nd nuts but get an all-in into me on the river from a somewhat laggy opp who hasn't really been that out of line (38/8/.72).

OK, two overs will typically raise. In a 6-max game I like to reraise my high/medium pocketpairs, because on a nondescript board, they're going to be good. Or is it more profitable to call here preflop and bet/fold flop? What if opp was deeper stacked?

gabe is an unknown quantity at this point

2 there are lots of lines you could take like 3 bet, call and evaluate on turn, or just fold. depends on player, table conditions, and how the stakes usually play.
3. its not much more, you have to call. try to raise more preflop though.

Hand 1. Unless you have a read that villian is a complete donk or manaic fold. Even if its a split pot and villian has a Jx you don't make much 3.50 - 2.85 rake = .65/2 = .33 or .32 cents compared to losing $65.00 if villian has JQ. Not worth the call in my opinion. This looks like something I would do with JQ and pray for a call from someone who thinks im trying to steal the pot.

Hand 2. Call and see how villian acts on turn call any reasonable size bet.

Hand 3. Instacall $8.00 to win $34.00. Lord knows what villian has your good here at least 50% of the time versus a short stack.

Hand 1: Easy, easy fold considering the risk/reward ratio.

Hand 2: This is very read dependant, against most players I'll call here and re-evaluate the turn (most likely calling one more bet and folding if they fire big on the river), but sometimes I'll three bet here if I think they're on a draw, or call and raise the turn is another line to take if you put him on a draw.

Hand 3: Raise a bit more preflop. And I think posting this hand is a bit ridiculous to be honest. You have to call $8 more to win a $37 pot or so on an extremely dry board with a pretty solid overpair. This is a very simple call, and I'm calling a push here from stacks up to $30-40 with JJ most likely. Once again, these hands are all very read dependant, except for this one. You must call.

1: Easy fold, right....er I didn't think that one through quick enough and called and of course he showed QJ. I think I posted this just to make sure I don't forget, I won't call something like this with out a specific read that opp will steal.

2: This guy had been fairly aggressive, so I was thinking maybe he'd show some crap. I called here and a resonable turn bet. He checked the river and I lost to his AK.

3: I realize that this was a really easy call just wondering if I could have played it better. I normally raise about 3x prev. raise (plus extra if there's callers) from any position. How much do you guys raise good hands out of the blinds? Looking at it, my preflop raise was really weak, I should have raised to 6.5 or so here. Anyway opp showed AA.

Thanks for the advice.

1: I fold here. At best you are splitting here a minipot (1.75 to each not including the rake taken) and it wont make up for times you are loosing a huge pot against QJ.

2: Call and revaluate turn. Fold to much aggression on later streets.

3: RR more prf (to something like 8). As played call his push, you are getting great pot odds.

Regarding hand 2, give up immediately if you respect your opponent. This is a game of respect and therefore edges. Your edge against an opponent who has been reasonable and raises you while you hold TPGK is marginal at best.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?

Can someone tell me why we are not betting the 8 in hand one? Is it because we are out of position on a coordinated board and several players are in? Why not take a stab?

I like that. I mean what am i drawing to here? With a raise I pick up a small pot or let it go to aggression. I like this better than folding and a lot more than calling.
