where is a good place to go then? Stars? Party (do they even have HU cash game tables?)? UB? Note that as a starting point I just want to NL25 HU, but this might change for the future if I begin to like it.
Note: this might be the wrong forum I'm posting in, but I'm pretty sure this forum is where I would get the best answers to my question.

I heard UB is good but I would suggest HU SNGs. The rake in HU cash games at lower limits adds up. Plus, in cash games you'll run into short stack ninja hit-n-runs often.
I played a bunch of $50 hu sngs over a 3 week period but the starting stack was 1000. You couldn't make many mistakes before being short stacked. I played some guy and lost 8 times in a row even though he wasn't very good (guess I'm not either). When allin I was a favorite 75% of the time and lost - no joke. That was very annoying.
It was a good experience but I'm back to shorthanded multitabling now. People consider 65% winrate at HU good and 70% amazing. So, you really have to be in that range or you are wasting your time when you factor in rake - at least compared to how you could do multitabling shorthanded or full ring.

I will continue to multitable NL 100 6-max. My plan is just to play some HU cash game from time to time to improve my HU play and poker play in general. And I thought it would be fun to try something else than just shorthanded cash games just to mix it up.
I've tried HU sngs before (at stars) and I never really got to like them tbh.

What somebody said earlier about short stack hit and runs is true. That gets very annoying. UB has some good low limit HU cash tables, but the i prefer the heads up sit and gos. On full tilt you start with 1500, which is much better than 1000.
I would play HU simply as a way to improve my game however. I dont think theres very much money in it., and the variance is a motherf...er.

i played on crypto but that was a while back. Rake was just gross.
Ive also played HU sngs a lot as i suck at normal ones, but i tend to play HU PloOmaha on ap and stars with the deeper stacks.

I played a friend at 50NL on UB a few months back for about an hour. Somehow UB managed to rake slightly less than a buyin within that span, it's just sick. Playing HU cash isn't a good idea for profit until you get above maybe 3/6 or 5/10, the rake is just too killer.
Does WPEX have HU tables, Johnny?

I just downloaded wpex since I'm looking at getting into low/mid stakes heads up too, but they don't have HU only tables...but the room was so empty many tables were heads up anyway. Too bad- it'd be nice to have no rake.

I played some on UB already now, and I love it so far, the action's fine and the software + interface is awesome. But other than high stakes they only offer NL50 and I doubt that UB is the most fishy place out there in regards to HU cash games.
Anyone know anything about prima, bodog or the Ipoker network in regards to HU cash games?

Did you watch Taylor's HU video? I think he ran into a couple short stack ninjas and then pointed out all the rake that he lost. He also acknowledged (not in vid) that 70%+ winrate (SNGs) was very difficult to maintain.
In order to make a good profit ($/hr), you have to play higher stakes. I think the going will be tough there.

Prima sucks during US Evenings - maybe better your timezone - with a major lack of traffic at SNG tables. Not sure about cash ones. This is where I played because I have good rb there. Otherwise even the SNG rake hurts.
If you do cash games, it may be optimal to find shorthanded tables that get down to 2-3 players. They eventually die down and you may get somebody not comfortable playing HU but is too dumb to leave. I think rilla used to browse full tables that were short to take advantage of FR players not comfortable shorthanded. Same concept.
I found HU SNG's didn't really help my cash game play except maybe helping with pot control. Maybe HU cash games will help you in some regards. The problem is: raising in a HU cash game vs. raising and getting HU in a regular cash game is going to yield much different opponent ranges. So, I'm not sure how much it will add to your SH cash game.
Either way it can't hurt to experiment. Let us know how it goes. It think many people have thought about it and some have tried it a couple times. I don't know anyone on here who does it often long term.
