Post subject: Smooth call or lucky mistake?

Was playing on Paradise Poker last night in the 10$ NL rooms (yeah, I'm cheap....but I'm just trying to get some hands in without risking big $$)
I play tight for an hour, mostly folding, until I see KK dealt to me in late position. Someone puts in a 6xBB bet in from mid position (but keep in mind that's still just 60 cents  ). I reraise him a buck. He calls.
The flop comes Q 9 rag rainbow. Not the triple rag flop I was hoping for, but no Ace at least. He checks to me, I bet about 70% of the pot. He reraises all-in for like 6 bucks. I don't have a great read on this player yet as to tight/conservative.
This reraise seems to scream trip Q's or 9's since QQ/99 both make sense as hands that would raise pre-flop and maybe (at least for QQ) stand a re-raise. Somehow, I convince myself that because I'm in the 10$ room and I've seen lots of sloppy play already that this guy might make this kind of move with AQ (top pair top kicker) and it's more likely that he was dealt AQ than 99 or QQ. I call, getting ready to kick myself.
I catch my third king on the river, so I've won before the cards are even shown. He did just have AQ underneath, and I get payed and head off to bed.
I'm pretty darn sure that despite winning this pot that my call was a bad move....It wouldn't have been if I KNEW this other guy was sloppy/loose, but I didn't know that and generalized based on the rest of the room. It's hard to tell yourself that you're wrong when you make money off of a mistake...so I need someone else to tell me also 
Thoughts on this hand?

No way I would lay down Kings against that board. If he's got the set, oh well - that's poker. Now if another Q fell instead of your K, thats another story.
Another possibility, though, is that he's got AA, which would make sense too. You never know, but you gotta play 'em when you get 'em.

He also might have had AKs and just bet hard on the flop to feign his power. Sometimes when players bet hard pre-flop and don't pair up on flop, they just bet alot anyways to fold out the other player. The only thing I would have put this guy on was AK, AA, or AQ. Possibly QQ, but unlikely. He obviously wouldn't have two pair of Q9s because only an idiot would raise before the flop on that hand. Good play overall, it was sort of risky seeing as how you did NOT know this player very well.

If he'd have had queens or rockets he probably would of re-raised u all in pre-flop, i know i probably wud of done if some1 made a re-raise on my original raise. pocket 9's is more of an option. But if he had of hit trips with a rainbow flop he wud surely of just called your bet after the flop or made a small re-raise.
Thats how i wud of read that hand i'd say u played it perfectly, bet after the flop was possibly a bit big. Gave him chance to fold knowing u had an over pair. i wud of bet about 40-50% of pot making it easier to call for him, then nail him after the turn, as he probably wud of felt his Q was still good.

high pocket pairs are scary because it's easy to lose your stack to trips, but i say good call because KK is still top pair, he would've check-raised you on the turn if he really had the shit....
so i'd take my chances and take that hand to town and make him pay the price of trying to be sneaky with 2nd place hand.
