PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP ($400)
Button ($400)
Hero ($484)
BB ($535.75)
UTG ($596.15)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4, 4.
2 folds, Button raises to $16, Hero calls $14, BB raises to $36, Button calls $20, Hero calls $20.

Flop: ($108) 3, 4, 5 (3 players)
Hero bets $44, BB calls $44, Button folds.

Turn: ($196) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks.

River: ($196) K (2 players)
Hero bets $104, BB calls $104.

Final Pot: $404

Flop bet was weak because I put him on an overpair and I expected a sizable Reraise. When it didn't come on the turn I feared he may have been drawing with AK or AQh. So I checked, and he checked. Then I value bet.

UTG ($192.80)
MP ($491.85)
Button ($804)

Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
UTG calls $4, MP raises to $16, 1 fold, SB calls $14, Hero calls $12, UTG calls $12.

Flop: ($64) , , (4 players)
SB bets $16, Hero raises to $48, UTG raises to $176.8, MP folds, SB folds, Hero ??

I think it's either a set or a draw. What do you do? If I had AJ, I would be more excited to call vs. a shorty.

Hand 1: I don't get why you didn't bet the turn. If he was drawing with AK or AQ be happy he is calling now. You really can't give a free card.
I agree with Bode-ist that you should bet the flop bigger too. Imo a smaller bet is just as likely to be raised as a bigger one, because it is pretty clear you are asking for a raise here.

Hand 2: I think a sqeeuze play preflop would be very nice here, but calling is good. I don't get you flop raise, I definately call there. As played I fold the flop.

Honestly, I think both are fine. Although im not quite sure about hand 1 and i probably would have played it different. Fold hand 2 imo, although i do think its pretty close with utg, sb is in the pot as well, and the pot is pretty big mmmeh fold. To the people saying don't raise his flop bet, this is a small bet compared to pot, it reminds me of people who fire a dollar into 20 dollar pots as their "bluff", so i think a raise on the flop to a standard cbet size is just fine.

I probably would have played hand 1 different. I probably would have bet bigger on the flop instead of hopeing for the raise as its likely to come regardless if he has a big overpair, and probably bet the turn as well.
