Villian runs 54/23/2 and Ive seen him show down some really retarded hands and make some strange, but strong, bluffs. His range is like Qx, JJ-22, and maybe 67 or diamonds. I felt that shoving was the only way i was getting him off his pairs and draws. Overall he plays really cracked out and strange. Good shove, bad shove?

i dont like the bluff, because you cant count on a fold from a total fish who plays very weird, and is capable of calling with any pair.

maybe i over exaggerated the extreme nature of his play. i had seen him make some weird bluffs that he was called on. but idk, i felt that he was folding everything worse than QJ here and that was near the top of his range.

This really depends on what kind of fish he is. Some will call down with 99 here while others don't like to put their stack in without a decently strong hand (like tp). Most fish are the latter so I think this is fine. If he has a queen he'll likely call you down, but you still have pretty good equity vs that.

eh, i doubt anyone running 54/23 is capable of folding top pair ever on that board.

I've lost a lot of money bluffing players like this. Did picking up the fd on the turn influence your decision?

In a 3bet pot, I don't think this is bad at all. You are getting 2:1 if called and you have equity of ~30%. Any fold equity makes this +EV. You should have some fold equity since you are the 3bet aggressor & he didn't CR flop.
I am guessing that you are approaching a marginal EV situation and the metagame impact is +EV, but will he be around long enough for metagame to matter?
I usually check behind turn and take my free card cause I'm such a nit.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.
