So I decided to limp these scs on the button and then got raised by the BB. Decided it was worth playing as villain seemed a bit loose (playing lots of hands, though that's not based on hard stats) and I thought I could have a dig post-flop.

I decided to call the flop to give myself chance at the turn bluff and the turn was a nice scare card I think.

The idea was to push the river if called and fold to a re-raise.

No Limit Hold'em iPoker ($NL)

5-handed

StacksCO: $73.70
Hero: $93.00
SB: $112.25
BB: $120.25
UTG: $11.22

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with 5 6
UTG Fold, CO Call, Hero Call, SB Call, BB Raise $3.00, CO Fold, Hero Call, SB Call

Flop:($13.00) 6 Q J (5 players)
SB Check, BB Bet $5.00, Hero Call, SB Fold

Turn:($23.00) 2 (5 players)
BB Bet $12.00, Hero Raise $30.00, BB Call
River:($83.00) 6 (5 players)
BB Check, Hero Bet $30.00, BB Call
Final Pot: $143.00

After the river gave me trips I go from wanting a fold to wanting a call. I put in a low bet which he has to call (as I think if I check he checks behind).
It may be too low given my previous re-raise, but the fact that the board has paired perhaps explains that away (given I represent a flush). Even perhaps encourages a bluff which would be cool (since I put him on TPGK, maybe AJ or overpair, outside chance 2-pair- I think it likely a set of Qs or Js would have re-raised the turn).

Thoughts?

First of all raise preflop unless CO and/or the blinds are loose calling stations postflop. As played your preflop call of his raise is a must.

Fold flop, the call is OK if you were HU with the BB, but now you still have SB yet to act after you.

Turn raise is spew if you think villian is loose (partly because he could very well have the ace or king of clubs and then he'll call your turn raise).

River I bet a little more than ½ pot, something around $45-50.

yea I agree with robert. actually the flop is a better spot to raise...but if he's loose prob just fold.

My experience is it's best not to bluff loose opps, except with better reads, and/or in occasional small pots.
