Here are some hands from the 1st session I've played in a few weeks. Been busy with other shit, but now ready to oil the poker hinges and get back into the swing of things.
1. Villain is new to the table and tight looking this is the first hand he's played in about 8 hands. I figure with my clean image vs this guy and it being the start of his session the 3-bet should get a good amount of folds.
I feel like I get no streets of value from any worse hands so elect to check the flop and turn for the same reason. I feel like 99-JJ are jus c/c here so all a bet does is give them monies. The river I feel like I have to call since I have near the top of my range and have shown immense weakness which may well induce a stab from overs and other air.
No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
SB ($41.80)
BB ($23.90)
UTG ($14.05)
MP ($50)
Hero (CO) ($53.10)
Button ($64.80)
Preflop: Hero is CO with 8 , A
1 fold, MP bets $1.50, Hero raises $5, 3 folds, MP calls $3.50
Flop: ($10.75) Q , 3 , 8 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks
Turn: ($10.75) 3 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks
River: ($10.75) 7 (2 players)
MP bets $7.50, Hero calls $7.50
Total pot: $25.75
2. Villain is a reg who only 3-bets 2% and runs 21/18 over a large sample. I feel like my hand isn't strong enough to c/c the turn with so elect to bet again possibly folding out a bunch of floats and bad Qs. I feel like there is too much top pair and stuff in his range for me to profitably fire river. I have a pretty aggro image.
No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
MP ($143.65)
Button ($40.30)
Hero (SB) ($50.50)
BB ($50)

3 folds, Hero bets $1.50, BB calls $1.25
Flop: ($3.50) 8 , K , Q (2 players)
Hero bets $2.65, BB calls $2.65
Turn: ($8.80) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $6.60, BB calls $6.60
River: ($22) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks
Total pot: $22
3. Villain is 25/23/1.0 over 50 hands. I haven't really tangled with him much. He's c-bet 1 time out of 1 oppertunity so no real info there.
I hardly ever donk bet flops, but felt like I didn't want to do anything else here. I have some equity with overs and bd straight draw, but not enough for me to want to c/r sicne I was unsure of how strong his range would be for c-betting here. I planned to just fold out missed overs and baby pairs and give up on most turns if called.

hand 1: there isn't a single street in this hand where i'd really much consider playing it any other way. PF seems l.do, flop as well, turn i should think so, and river i'd SNAP without reads that villain is good (which he likely isn't, since he's flatting a 3b OOP when he opened in MP vs someone he has no reads against).
hand 2: kinda same thoughts. PF seems obv given villain looks like a push over. everything looks good (maybe i'd make the turn 7-8 but i doubt it makes a big difference). barrelling the river doesn't seem good without reads that he's capable of folding TP in bvb without scare cards hitting or that he'll peel two streets with second pair in bvb
hand 3: i generally 3b or fold in this spot against an MP opener. as played, i generally lean towards c/r'ing over donk leading on flops that i don't expect him to check back like this one. not saying that definitively means leading out here is bad because i suck too much to know for sure and look forward to people pointing out how i'm wrong about all the advice i just gave you

hand 1: bet/fold flop is standard. clearly the turn/river cards were among the best possible and you still really only beat a bluff when you call the river.
hand 2: really opponent dependent what to do on the turn. how often he floats or his folding frequency with KT/QJ need to be considered to make a turn/river plan. we only have 8 outs on the turn so check/folding isn't terrible. we don't have a lot of fold equity in this situation.
hand 3: yea don't flat this hand versus MP. i prefer folding since we are 50NL competent (i also play 50NL).

Hand 1
I dont mind the 3 bet at all. I call sometimes with these suited Ax hands. I think 3 betting IP gives us more options Postflop. Also the fact that we have an A blocker is not a bad idea. I played a hand VERY similar to this yesterday that went down same way. I see no reason what so ever to call this bet. But dont worry I did the same thing
Hand 2
Man I played a hand similar to this yesterday too lol. The flop could prob be argued either way. Ya we have a gutter ball, But I think that hits a lot of his range as well. After the flop Id give up.
Hand 3
Kinda a toughie. An argument can be made for raising, calling, folding. I think the call isnt bad considering the player (not full stacked etc). Flop seems ok. I agree C/C kinda sucks. Id prob C/F. As played Id call river.

1-I'm betting the turn, everything that's a made hand is calling and he doesn't have a strong hand. I don't agree b/f flop standard btw.
2- This is fine imo. He has more Qx than Kx, so if you think he'd fold like AQ to a river bet, I'd go for it. It IS BvB and you're probably barreling turn a decent amount, so I wouldn't count on much respect.
3- I don't agree on 3betting pre like others say.
I would rather c/r the flop. As played, bet more on the flop and lead turn for a big bet.
River is close, going with the assumption that a small bet like this is never a bluff I see why you folded, but after the action on flop and turn your range is so weak that I call this hand for this price.
