Should I have dropped the hammer quicker?
Villain hasnt done anything out of line. I'm thinking he's got an overpair.

Large monkeys with smelly penises.
I keep forgetting you're a limit player. Raise to make it a mistake for draws to chase and to build the pot. If you don't deny them odds to draw then the mistake is yours.

Helpful.
What hands are we trying to protect from in this raised pot? I mean, how scared are we supposed to be that he might have suited cards? We're 70/30 on that flop against the flush draw.

this isnt necessesarily about protecting your hand from draws if you put him on an overpair; it's about getting your money in before an action-killing card comes. He's not going to want to put much more much in the pot if you cold-call the flop and a spade comes on the turn. You want all the money in the pot while the board is attractive to an overpair. As played river seems an easy fold.

Ooh, the action-killer is something I hadnt even considered. Good post.
Why does the river seem like a fold? I didnt even consider a fold there either ;/

Isn't the river an easy fold? Yeah it's a dry pot, so yes it is an easy fold.

I almost always raise the flop, but if you don't I think it's a sin to not raise the turn.
I think the bigger question is why was Irisheyes at this table?

The flop call.....debatable.
The turn call....pretty horrible. Raise it up pot here and let villain pay.
The river call....I don't mind. Villain could have retarded 2 pair or something who knows, but this call is a lot easier if you get 2/3s of villain stack in on earlier streets.

Yes indeed. Was he coaching you?
River call is unforgivable I think. You're dead here 90% of the time.

Woa, woa, woa. Which screen name is his? No he was not coaching me, but he WAS present in the FTR Chatroom while we were discussing hands. Though he may not have been in at this precise time, I dont recall (because I didnt know he was on the table!).
Either way thats pretty fucking unethical as I tell all my starting hands in chat.
The problem thats arising with my chat sessions is that people think its cool to watch me play for two hours, then once theyve figured me out, sit down and try and exploit me. Or possibly do what irish MIGHT have done (again, I wont accuse him because I DONT KNOW), sit in chat while I talk about my hand and sit on my table under a screenname I'm not familiar with.
Its kinda starting to piss me off. I'm trying to do something cool and lead some discussion and people are just trying to use that information against me.

I think you're being way too paranoid and despite your attempt not to, you're still backhandedly accussing him. You should be talking to him not everyone else about the situation. If you're going to make it public then you shouldn't throw out names until you're sure.
1. As I understand it, Irisheyes usually play $2/4, not $0.25/o.50. Him sitting with you for the sole purpose of exploiting you doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
2. From my experiences, Irisheyes seems to be a pretty stand-up guy. I don't think it's in his nature to do something like this.

Absolutely not, I'm not accusing him of any unethical behavior whatsoever. I really dont think he was in our chat at the time. I really can't remember. He was in and out of chat, and I wasnt paying attention. I highly doubt he was doing that - my point was that I need to be cognizant that it could be done.
But its still fairly uncool to sit at my table and not identify yourself, which I'd appreciate in the future (so that I can turn my tail and run)
