Yah I'm betting this river all day, he has like no nut hands here and it seems like the majority of his range is underpairs and weak stuff that really can't stand another barrel too often.

$12 or $13 seems fine, it's hard to see a decent hand that is going to call you here.

Make a note on whatever trash he does call with.

Id just c/f the turn against an unknown shortstack. If it was a K or a Q, or an offsuit jack, or we had the A, or he was full stacked id be much more inclined to bet. But I think hes going to show up with a flush sometimes, or something like A 8 that makes a crying call since its only $13, or who the hell knows what other kind of rubbish. And we beat most of his missed draws anyway.

An unknown shortstack is pretty likely to be a station...
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

A station is going to call the turn with some hands worse than ours as well. And it's still an overcard...And once turn is played as it is I think river is a definate bet.
So yeah I feel that the turn is actually closer then the river.

Bet bigger on flop! I see like everybody at 50nl make this mistake for some reason.

Bet river big, like 16 is good.

Plz explain Marshall. You made an interesting betsizing comment in another thread as well so you seem to have good thoughts about it.

I sense something like on dry boards betting either close to pot or really small (even smaller then the 1/2-2/3 that's considered standard)

Think about what you want the bet to accomplish, if you want to make him call you only with better hands then you should make it really big, if you want him to raise you, you should probably make it quite small, if you want him to call you with something worse you should probably make it an amount that whatever it is that's worse than what you have will call. This is just surface stuff, it obviously goes much much deeper, but that's not important for you and I couldn't explain a whole lot more on a poker forum anyways.
