table seemed loose aggressive, i knew someone would raise a little preflop and was planning to re raise.

No, you got lucky. AK is not a limp-reraise hand and anybody who calls that kind of raise has either a slight advantage or has you killed with AA/KK. Once in a while you might get a sucker with AQ or some other garbage, but most of the time, you are going to be behind with this hand.

No, you aren't lame so theres nothing to be embarassed about. You can use this move to pick up a pot if the players look weak and if you get called at least you have a pretty decent hand. If you do this with the intention of getting all your money in against another hand it will put you in bad shape more often than not.

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
Interesting.
I limp all hands but JJ-AA from utg whereas here im raising AK in mp. If he comes over the top with JJ (all in) ill fold no problem, if he reraises ill call to see the flop and on that flop im commiting my chips hoping im not up against KK or AA.
As for pushing AK, iwouldnt do it, especially here when i'd guess a higher pp . I'll take the JJ most days against your AK push.
The play isnt foolish/fishy but you need to rely on a post flop read and to understand that if you miss here post flop you inevitably have to put it down to his post flop aggression with the made hand.
AT least give yourself the chane to put the hand down post flop rather than commiting preflop with an unmade hand.
