I don't like it. I think he has a K here a lot...and they usually aren't folding top pair in a 3bet pot.

Having Ax here is even better I think as there will be less AK and AA combos. At 25NL I think you can't rule out AK from villains range, but I think villains range is wide enough. I like it.

At the time I thought he might 4bet KK+/AK sometimes
so I didnt include all those combinations in his range & he might even raise flop sometimes.
The flop was obv. std c-bet but on the turn the board still looked pretty dry
& I thought my shove would fold out anything that couldn't beat AK.

He called with AK.
I'll look for this situation in future & see what hands villian shows up with as I'm not really sure how many other hands could be in his range once he calls flop. As he needs to fold to my shove about 40% of the time I think to make it profitable.

I think villain's range is much wider at higher levels in most cases. I can see the merits vs. certain players but vs. most at 25NL they usually have something decent on the flop they aren't folding. Also, start buying full at all tables dammit

I was full for this one lol. But yeah I often buy in for 60bb, esp. as I'm trying to make more read based plays lately and am playing 10-14 tables & I dont like making decisions for 100bb with so little time. Also when you 3bet someone they dont really have odds to call with speculative hands.
Might change it up again soon though.

Yeah, it just sucks for me seeing a shortstack and my mouth watering then seeing the name "noble007" and knowing I can't punish you like I want.

Wrong-do not make exploitable mistakes before u have evidence to suggest ur opponent is making the even bigger mistake ur mistake is designed to exploit. Against all but ur strongest opponents, adjust, don't guess...

I agree this hand isn't the best example, had our opponent shown up with 99/KT then I think we'd have a pretty exploitable villain.
