Villain is 24/10/1.7
I don't have any recollection of him getting out of hand. Is this river an easy call? He thought for a bit before making the raise.

Fold because he has 65 of spades!!!
Haha just joking. You have to call this.
The title of the thread is the reason why you have to call.

That's a crying call, I guess. Very curious what he had though.

JL was right, he had 56 spades. I honestly am still not sure this should be a call. I'm up against a very straight forward uncreative nittish villain. I've shown a lot of strength in this hand so far and no one at this level bluffs the river. Plus, this guy's too weak to raise a crappier two pair he picked up on the river. I absolutely knew he had that hand too when he raised, but I just couldn't get myself to fold when I could only put him on one hand that beat me.
Maybe I'm just being a bitch about losing.

My first thought was a shortstacked fish who hit a weaker 2 pair.

I would fold this pretty quick. All types of weird slowplayed and backdoor stuff comes up in these spots. No way he raises for value worse.

For some reason Ongame calls it 1-2NL but it is actually 100NL and we're both full-stacked.

Despite all that & knowing the outcome, I'm OK with the call. I think even weak, uncreative nits might give you a little value raise with A3 or A4 on that river at times. I think you're beat a lot here, but not so definitely beat that it's a clear fold.

i've found that when you are quite sure that they have the one hand that they 'have to have', they pretty much always have it.
that said, i prob call this river but i'm a taggfish

Hmmm, this is a disturbing revelation as much of my game was constructed off your old strategy posts.
