idk where this goes really, but this seems like the best place to get a good answer.
im moving up to 100nl right now and want a pad for my BR. I have 25k fpps that i either want to spend on a $285 goldstar vip bonus or play 5 5400fpp sats to the sunday million which pay 4/10 seats. Is it better to just take the guaranteed money? ive played one of those sats before and cashed, and it was super soft, but theoritically i could go 0 for 5 and get no money at all.
thoughts on this? i would just wait and get the $650 platinumstar bonus, but that will take me atleast another full month or more to get the fpps for it and im not sure im going to be able to put in enough hands this month to even get platinum.

giving up too much value for your fpps by taking the $285 bonus. i'd definately go with the sunday million sats. assuming every player has the same ability your equity in those is $430. easy decision.
in the long run though probably the best way to pad your bankroll to play a higher limit is to just make more money and get better by playing lower stakes.

if i were you, and im actually considering this myself, i would take all your money out and put it on ftp, and then grind out the bonus plus rb, then move back to stars when you are done.
but what you were suggesting, it seems to me if you think you have a good edge in those satellites, then spending them on those seems more profitable. however, you seem to really want that cushion, and its not guarantee that you place in any of them so....just figure out how much you are willing to risk vs. getting the guaranteed money.

Yes
I have played in several of these and they are extremlly soft. Probably one of the easiest to play in is the 1 table 9 Person 1500 SNG sat. You would have almost 20 BI's and I would think that you could probably take first in 25-30%. I think the skill level goes up when the FPP's go up. Simply because a player that has 5400 FPP's has either played a lot of low limit poker or typically plays higher limits, either way in order to get that many FPP's you really cant be a huge fish. Although most players can get 1500 FPPS in not a lot of time at all. Just my .02

The supernova bonus works out to be $.015/fpp, the tourneys almost all come out to $.016/fpp. When you factor in the time away from your actual hourly, it's probably much more +EV to wait for the bonus. That said, I'm in a similar spot and wont be supernova for quite some time unless I blast thru 25nl and 50nl. I might just go after the sunday mil seats.

explain concierge to me. Why is it such a good deal? Is it basically "Hey stars, I want [insert item], buy it for me and take my FPPs"?

You're not giving up THAT much.
gold, $285/25000
platinum, $650/50000
650 - (2*285) = 80
so you're giving up $80. If the $280 makes you more comfortable I say do it. Long term that $80 isn't going to mean shit.

buy at least 500$ worth of shit, fax stars the receipt, they deduct the fpps for it at about 10% or so of a better rate than the 1500$ bonus

i ended up just taking the $285 bonus because im really not losing that much on it (lol $65) and to even get the $650 bonus you have to be platinumstar and i dont know if i will even get there this month or next.

That's what it says.... they'll do it for less though. I have done it several times for stuff less than $3K. Just like Renton said... buy X, e-mail receipt for X to stars, stars deducts fpps, within 5 days the cash in your account and for a better rate than getting the $1,500 bonuses.

Guys, for clarification:
Say, I buy this
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LNT527...sim_e_title_22
Using the concierge. How much will I still have to pay? Do they credit my stars account for the money? the FPPs?
What If I throw in a receiver (bringing an additional $800 into the mix, for a total of $3600 or so)
Is it 186K FPPs + additional FPPs equaling cost of product?
mi iz confuse

Hey muzz I've just seen that the £250 Amazon voucher is 32k FPPs which seems like ridic good value. If you're buying a TV it's probs better to go through amazon than get one direct from stars I would think.

i need a new monitor, i want a ps3 (without having to pay) and its a game of numbers.
12 tabling on stars is easy, im even considering looking at the FTP fr games too, just to get the volume in. It'll take barely 8-10 weeks if i get to platinum star quickly to get most of the above
If i play 6 amx elsewhere i can oinly really play 4 tables, maybe 6 at a push on party or AP.
45-60k hands per month on stars is much better than the 10-20k i can get in anywhere else.

this is easily the best value for UK players if you need computer stuff. versus the PS3 going rate here it must be pretty close to getting thos over actually ordering a ps3 outright from stars (not sure how much a PS3 cost right now)

So if you spend the $3600, send Pstars the e-receipt. They will deduct about 225,000 FPPs from your account and credit your Stars account with $3600. Very simple and easy.

TNX d00d. I thought I had to cough up the 186k FPP + the 255k FPP. TNX for clarifying things up.
