Before you read the showdown tell me what he has and how I played it. I was seen as aggressive but only had been at the table for a little while. Do you ever bet draws like this? What about the river action?

I like to sometimes bet draws, but usually into smaller fields - 3 or less players including myself. I think the main goals of betting a draw (disguising your hand and stealing the pot) are easiest to accomplish against fewer opponents. Here I would probably not bet the flop, and if I did I would slow it down on the turn - bet the same amount again or even check/call a reasonable bet. You're getting into a risky situation where you're putting a lot of money into an 8 out draw where you can't even be confident that all your outs are clean.

I'm also not crazy about the re-raise on the river. I'd probably just call his raise. You probably have the best hand but if so, you've made enough on it already. From the way he played the hand I'd guess him for a slowplayed set or something like that, but he could also be a bad player that connected on a gutshot straight draw.

Just read the results - man, did I call that. That's a damn shame. He played this hand horribly, flat-calling large bets with a marginal draw; I can only imagine that he was specifically gunning for you (for your table image), or is himself a loose-ass maniac. I would suspect something like that on the end, hence flat calling his raise instead of going over the top of him.
