Hello, I normally like to play $5 buy in SnG HU tournaments.

The only problem I have is that I'm not quite sure how I should play it. Should I have a nailed down strategy?

I just play my cards as I see them (also sometimes aggressive in play).

But I seem to lose chips, and they always seem to have the better hand.

I read the stickies, but those were for cash games and coaching.

Any advice would be greatful.

Thanks in advance.

There is a ton of good advice on this site.

One tip- play much tighter preflop to start with.

Steal more when blinds are high.

Dont call raises unless you have a plan.

Ah, did not see it was HU. Still holds to some extent though.

You can get away with playing like a total nit for the first few rounds. Then you'll find out how your opponent is playing and you can adjust.

So the basic strategy is to play hands with potential on the button and dumping hands like 72o in favor of 45s. Then you play nitty and see if your opponent is playing fishy.

It is for me because I can adapt to whatever my opponents are doing.

So if I have a B.R. of 10$, what should I be doing??

I have been playing poker for 3 years, I'm a pretty solid player..

What should I do to increase my B.R.?

first understand yourself
a solid player doesnt have a $10 BR after 3 yrs, you cant play $10HU either invest money or play for cents. It took me a while to get to grips with managing myself but it pays off.

No, I play in real life.

I barely deposited the minimum after I lost 2 SnG heads up games
