Bad play / good play? I feel like a deer caught in the headlights.
Is it wise to slow down on the turn once I'm called on the flop?

Yea, that is nauseating. I would've folded too. From the way he played, I couldn't tell what he had. I'm new here, but I'll guess that from the way you were betting, he had figured you had a high pocket pair. With the open ended straight draw he had a pretty good idea that's all you still had, and that he could take a shot at bluffing. It would've been nice to have JJ instead of QQ. I don't know if it's a good play or not, but I would've folded too.

I made a similar lay down about 30 mins ago in an SNG didn't notice the board was draw-y until the river when i folded to a T220 bet as there was a board of x789T with 3 clubs
What's worse is I arrive to 5 left with T2400 and double a SS up on two hands back to back each time with AQ vs his J8 / AK to finish 5th
