wow...i guess it's a good sign because i didn't even notice how much money i lost until i put my session in my spreadsheet, which means i'm comfortably desensitized to money. but still, it hurts once you take a step back and look at what you accomplished. tonight marks the biggest losing day in my poker career....$763.

yeah yeah, that's nothing. only 4 buyins. it's still brutal when your next closest loss for a night was only $300.

well, confidence is crushed even though i felt i played generally good game (not great), and woulda been nice to be on the other side of variance. ah well...back to 100NL for me.

As long as you weren't playing over your roll and we're a constant winner at 100NL don't be too hard on yourself, you'll be up there again fast enough, with more experience.

I've had a 4-5 buyin hit twice while moving up and of course it sucks. But stay confident, if you are solid it's just variance. If you are fair to yourself you know if you were spewing chips away or was just unlucky.

Having seen some threads from you, you seem a bit passive in certain situations, maybe that's something you can work on.

all of my tough hands i've posted here since i've moved up, and i think all of them losses, so you can see how i messed up. overall i don't think the mistakes were HUGE per se...but probably big enough that i deserved to be hit with the doom switch. i guess i should mention that for the first time i stacked someone with AK unimproved.

i'm actually not too sure how true this is. after all, there's a certain bias towards the hands you post, and the more unsure you are, usually it's either you're too passive or too aggressive.

for my sample of 1400 hands, i ran at 17/11, with aggression of 3.9/4.4/2. steal 28%. fold SB/BB 86/88.

soo....stats-wise nothing really out of the ordinary. one of the things i don't do is raise limpers with hands like JTo, 76s, etc, i overlimp along, which explains my lower PFR.

damn i wish PokerEV had absolute support so i could see how bad i actually did.

even though i lost this much money, i think it was a good thing. i think for the first time in a while i got "re-sensitized." that this is REAL money. like...i lost 2 weeks worth of work in 2 hours!

Just know you don't have to play any differently at 1/2. It's really the same as 100nl, just more solid regs and less fish.
Check out the new blog!!!

I just moved back down to 50nl after a shot at 100nl (all bad beats ), I even moved back to i-poker cos full tilt was too much for me, the games are definitely softer here. good luck.

I'll never forget the day I moved up to 1/2. I lost like 10 buy ins during the first hour. I'm a nit, so I probably had 50 buy ins, though. And there was just no way I was moving down or quitting, so I played like 15 hours straight, winning most of it back. As I recall I didn't eat, go to the toilet or blink an eye during that period of time. Having said that, moving down to regain the lost confidence and $$$ is probably better for your mental and physical health.

And start raising the limpers.

I think one time I lost ten g's last summer and that one hurt because I'd moved up from 200NL to 5/10 so fast. I didn't get my deposit back in that apartment....
