So i was doing a little shortstacking tonight at a fishy 600NL table (I Know, I Know! but i wasn't ratholing i was just building a stack from a 1/4 stack).

The start of this hand is a misclick that causes me to limp. the guy on the button is playing pretty LAGG, something like 35/30 in 150 hands. I get the sense that he may be good but i can't tell. the other guys are 45/15 types who i'm not worried about, they don't have much and aren't calling (most of the time).

My image is solid, i've showndown AA and ATo when pushing over a raise pre. None of these guys have seen me shortstack before besides maybe Skoly.

Imagine you are a reg at nl200 and have something like AJ or 88 and someone pushes over your punishing raise for like 42$ more.

A lot of the time I just say fkit and call and I think I'm part of the majority...
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I'm starting to realize this may be a dumb topic because it all depends on how loose Skoly's raising range is here and how tight his calling range is and that's something only i can guess from what i know.

But surely that doesn't matter? Surely the point is you're shortstacking NOW - so either you're a ratholing motherfucker or you're a clueless fish/shot taker, and the fact you have limp/pushed won't necessarily scare off the full-stacked regs who won't give you any respect.

It may be harder to do it with two cold caller behind.

He knows there are two loose donks in the blinds. He knows that you limped with a short stack. He should have tightened up his raising requirements a bit in light of this.

He knows the two cold callers are loose donks, so he won't be worrying about them when making his decision. If he'd call you HU then he'll shove now.

What's more important is if he tighten his raising range or not. Like he said, if i knew he had ATo and he'd call everytime this would be a good move because of the dead money.
