This was an awkward hand. Villain was nitty and had folded to all my previous SB and button raises. I only had about 70 hands with him but he hadn't 3-bet any previous hand.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($57.65)
MP ($104.80)
CO ($107.55)
Hero ($74.90)
SB ($60.85)
BB ($51.35)

Preflop: Hero is Button with .
3 folds, Hero raises to $1.5, SB raises to $5.25, 1 fold, Hero calls $3.50.

Flop: ($10.75) :Ac:, :Kd:, (2 players)
SB bets $7.5, Hero calls $7.50.

Turn: ($25.75) :Ks: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($25.75) (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $12...

Because,,,,,,,,,,?

My logic there was -
1. He has QQ/JJ/TT and absolutely hates this board. Any substantial bet from me is not getting called. But if I check behind he might call the same bet on the river, thinking I'm just buying the pot.
2. He has AA/AK/KK and my bet is swirling down the toilet bowl.

The only other hand I could reasonably give him was AQ, which it would be fine to value bet against. I don't imagine he was 3-betting me with anything worse than AQ or TT.

You need to bet the turn because it is unlikely that he calls and folds river, you are kind of deep, and you need protection.

Protection from what? His plausible hands (that are not already ahead of me) are drawing to two or zero outs. Ace-anything would be a four outer but it's iffy that he would three-bet weaker than AK. King-anything has the most outs (seven), but I would say there's almost no way he would three-bet those hands pre-flop.

Basically, protection is not on my mind here.

I'd like to hear more on your first argument though. What do you mean by that?

his range is way wider than what u described, unless hes 10/10
just bet turn for value, and if checked to on river bet again
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

He was more like 12/8, actually. When I said he was a nit I really meant it.

Against most villains I'd probably raise this flop smallish and induce some kind of shove with all aces and bluffs and FD's/combo draws.

Against a nit I don't mind a call, but am betting this turn for value since he can be pot controlling all aces. Don't get tricky, just bet it for value and let him make a mistake.

I think you played it fine apart from the river, which is still basically okay imho. There you can probably make it $18, because if he's folding to $18, he's folding to $12, and if he calls $12 he is calling $18. The 3 extra dollars doesn't make you anymore pot committed either. Unless... you wanted to induce a bluff? If that's the case, I don't like it.

I just read your comment about looking like you were buying the pot. I see the logic in that, nh.

(and 18-12=3 according to me these days for some reason).

raise the flop. there are so many combo draws in your range, and i doubt hes going to give you any more action w/o a hand.

Agree, I don't see any reason to not raise the flop with the intention of getting stacks in there or on the next street.
This flop is perfect for you, get it in.
