Ok that was obviously a bad beat. Were there any other hands that were more questionable? Its still pretty hard to lose 16 buyins in 6 hours.

Also, I advise moving down when you become under-rolled instead of staying where you're at. Moving down sucks, but the level below is always easier and you can move back up fairly quickly.

My guess, and it's just a guess, would be that you went on tilt because of a few *real* bad beats like the one you posted and played subpar because of that. I mean I've hit downswings - and this particular one still stings - where my AA got cracked 4 times (all-ins all the time), KK 1x and QQ 1x in the span of 2 hours (and they never won me anything during that time period) and I still managed to "only" lose 1.5 buy-ins. I did quit for the day because I was on the verge of serious tilt. I've also had downswings losing me 3+ buy-ins but they were ALWAYS more because of bad play by tilt/overconfidence than by sheer misfortune.

And if you drop below 10 buy-ins you really should quit; and move down a stake the day after, when you have calmed down. These are simple rules for self-protection.

Well ok.. but tilt or not you really should stop if you drop below 10 buy-ins. Things is, if you didn't go on tilt there it's really weird! It's like if your girlfriend from 3 years breaks up with you and you don't give a shit.. that is not normal

Well.. not the best turn call by your opp since he didn't have implied odds, but he did have "nice draw" (flush+gutshot) which is about 1/4 to hit on the river or something. I wouldn't say this is a bad beat, because he sorta had odds to call, it's just general misfortune on your part. You did the right thing though imo.

Btw if you didn't go on tilt, then why did you keep playing when your BR went really low?.. You always do that?

EDIT: if you're a winning 200NL player I shouldn't be giving you advice btw.. maybe you really did have that once-a-year extreme bad luck..

I can also understand why you wouldn't want to go lower than 25NL, it's probably already hella boring if you're used to 200NL right? I hope you can get some more money for a new roll and start over?

Eh, I'd rather NOT get AA than get it a lot only to see it cracked constantly!

Hope you get better luck now .. I've had a good run today, 4 hours at 80 ptBB/100. If everything goes as planned I'll be paying Party a visit too within a few weeks. I want to play amongst those fish you mention too
