it wasn't deemed collusion by pokerstars. Many players were teaming up in 4mans.

cos when you lose your match and your buddy wins his, he can start off with a whole pile of extra reads etc thanks to the team-cheating thing
pretty sure stars dropped the ball on this one

meh it's not like you can't just watch the other matches so you're not gaining that much of an advantage... And you're guaranteed to have a decent player in the tourney, unless of course the reason you feel the need to collude is because you're not actually very good.

It is collusion, Pokerstars and Full Tilt does"nt allow this, and if ever they found out, your account will be banned.

I can confirm that PokerStars said this was okay. I imagine that if you split winnings in 8-mans it would effectively lower the rake, but in 4-mans I'm not sure because of your high chances of meeting each other. I kind of want to analyze this further but it's kind of pointless.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

on further investigation, I think they did a u-turn. I can't cite my source, as I cant remember where I got it from.
It is deffo against the rules on FTP though.

this is true, i dont really want to find the thread but know i read one where they essentially said "even though it isnt actually collusion, it appears that way to some players and we do not want our games to even appear collusive to the casual player"

I still don't get how you can team HU games? We split the winnings we get from playing each other. Free rake to site?

It's a 4 man game shootout. The way you would team them is you both join and wait for 2 randoms, if you end up drawing each other for first round just shove first hand (assuming players are equal in skill) and then try to win in the finals and then split money. If you both pull fish then the strat is obvious.
