Villain is 44/14 and has been giving me a real headache all night by constantly floating me and raising my c-bet etc. He's not very good, but I just haven't been hitting any flops, so I haven't been playing back at him. Obv betting hte turn is more standard than c/r, but I thought there was a good chance he'd bet anything if I checked to him. I'm pretty sure he shoves any made hand on the turn to my c/r so I put him on a draw and checked the river to try and induce a bluff. Thoughts?

Renton will become famous soon enough
does he make weak steal bets on the turn?

otherwise this looks like it could be a suck bet from a hand that has you beat.

Maybe just call the turn and donk the river, or check/call if you think he's capable of bluffing a large percentage of the time.

i bet $150 on turn and fold to a raise, i would check that river after betting turn and cost most all bets without a read

Yeah that would be my standard line too, but I just decided to do something different in this spot.

Yeah I think he's capable of making weak steal bets on the turn b/c I have been c/f'ing quite a bit, esp to him. I think your lines are good (as well as gabes). Just decided on something different.

He showed 23 , MHING.

Given your read and the type of player I think he is, I like this line. Especially against the type of player that will call any c-bet and bet the turn when checked to. Great way to get extra value on turn, too bad it backfired
