CO is 13/11.5/2.4 over 160 hands, Button is a 62/12 drooler, SB is 17/8.5/inf over 26 hands. calling sucks, but if i 3bet i have to call a push and im not all that happy about it against a 17/9 when hes 3betting from the SB, even if it is a squeeze. idk, im just lost on what to do here.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($17.40)
MP ($55.25)
CO ($55.40)
Button ($102.95)
SB ($92.85)
Hero ($50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J.
UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, CO raises to $2.5, Button calls $2.50, SB raises to $8.25, Hero ???

Easy fold. The nit that's OOP is raising the nit that opened.

SB could be squeezing but can you really handle pressure OOP with JJ on any flop with overs? Only other option is shove with dead money and about 45% equity vs SB. Which may not be the worst thing. If the CO calls though your smoked.

eh, i think a fold may be the best play honestly. CO is a rock, and we just dont have much info on the squeezer. realistically, players at 50nl are not 3 betting a very wide range here vs a rock and a donkey.

Cutoff raises 11.5% of his hands and is opening in the cutoff, I don't give him credit with having a better hand than JJ. Looks like the sb is making a standard squeeze. Then again we aren't getting it in against anything worse than two overs and have nothing invested in the pot really so it's pretty easy to muck.

Then again read my sig.
<Staxalax> I want everyone to put my quote in their sigs

Someone likely has you beat already, just hard to figure who.

Fail that, you're certainly up against overs and couldn't know if you were good without a set anyway.

wow. I would have mucked it. It's definitely either bet or fold - calling just gets you pwn'd.

Good example of how aggression is rewarded - bet it or fold it.

The only good thing about a raise is that in this situation a raise looks sooooooo strong. The bad: your hand is now a bluff OOP in a bloated pot.
But you knew that.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

Why get it in with AK? If we're folding JJ then we're saying that one of these two most likely has QQ, KK, AA, or AK; so our own AK is not hugely awesome against that range by any stretch. It's better than JJ but not much better.

What do we think of maybe flatting with AK and getting it in on favorable flops?

When JJ is behind it is dominated with rarely any chance of winning. With AK we have decent equity against everything but AA.

MMM yeah. Sorry, it's been a long work day and I don't think I'm thinking too clearly at the moment. AK is probably a lot healthier here than JJ.

AKo is barely better off than JJ. Can we talk in terms of math and hand ranges for once. Stuff like "You're either flipping or dominated" sounds like a proverb from Confucius and it's just a terrible way to make close decisions vs. people who don't completely suck.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 38.824% 18.14% 20.68% 78295380
89232168.00 { AKo }
Hand 1: 61.176% 40.50% 20.68% 174740892 89232168.00 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 36.190% 35.98% 00.21% 125683776 731868.00 { JJ }
Hand 1: 63.810% 63.60% 00.21% 222162504 731868.00 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

There's $14.25 in the pot and given the above odds we lose about $12.75 if we're called with JJ, we need everybody to fold 47% of the time for a shove to be good. With AKo our equity is a little better we only lose $10 when called, so we only need everybody to fold 41% of the time. Also AK has blockers to AA and KK which makes it more likely that you'll get folds from both of these guys. You just need to figure out their ranges and decide how often they're going to have QQ+, AK vs how often they'll have something else that they'll fold.

Anyway, SB's range needs to be even wider than 99+, AQ+ for this to be a good shove with JJ so I think it's bad.
