Here's another basic Cash-game strategy I have to iron out : how to deal with limp-reraises preflop.
A few min ago on B 2 B I raised an utg limper preflop (NL100) and then I got really confused :
slipback (EUR 54,15 in seat 1)
Henitruk5 (EUR 40,75 in seat 2)
allbizniz1 (EUR 48,00 in seat 5)
Ravageur2 (EUR 69,41 in seat 6)
topslop (EUR 56,85 in seat 7)
mirage_24 (EUR 94,16 in seat 8)
Dealer: Henitruk5
Small Blind: allbizniz1 (0,50)
Big Blind: Ravageur2 (1,00)
Henitruk5 was dealt: Qd - Qc
topslop Call (1,00)
mirage_24 Fold
slipback Fold
Henitruk5 Raise (4,50)
allbizniz1 Fold
Ravageur2 Fold
topslop Raise (9,50)
Henitruk5 Call (6,00)
Flop 7h - Jc - 6s
topslop Bet (14,00)
Henitruk5 Fold
topslop Payback (14,00)
topslop didn't show hand
topslop wins: EUR 21,40
Rake: EUR 1,10

I have no read on Villain, he just sat down. He claimed to have AJ in post-hand chat.
I had laid down QQ on an 8-high flop earlier to a guy who showed KK. This is the first time I have made a pretty big laydown in ring and not been shown a better hand (or at least not being bullshitted into thinking I had made a great laydown).
So 2 basic questions here :
1- how often do you play QQ for set-value (which I consciously decided to do preflop here upon being reraised)? Is this generally too weak?
2- how often do you see utg limp-reraise with non AA/KK? I don't think in the long run this is a bad laydown... But am I giving utg limp-reraise too much credit? Who the fuck limp-reraises with AJo?
After viewing villain shown down ridiculous hands a few times later, I became convinced he DID have AJ.... But besides the results of this hand, I am curious about the QQ in the face of a reraise and utg-limper-reraise basic strategies... (btw am recently converted cash-gamer for whoring purposes).

Why oh why are you playing with 40-50 bb? your stack size makes the second hand an easy call, but that's irrelevent.
As for the first hand, I play the same without a read. Limp reraise says "I want to make some money with these rockets/cowboys."
Edit: oh and I don't think you suck, these are reasonable plays. But if you are 'rolled for the limits, buy in full.

donny :
Still feel a bit insecure in ring. I'm whoring right now and want to play these limits to speed up my bonus-grabbing but don't feel totally confident at these stakes... I hear ya bout being full-stacked because of the ridiculous situation you get into as a shorty but... Got bad beat for 3 buy ins right away (= 10% of total bankroll at time) and wanted to minimize variance.
Hmmm... I suppose playing as a shorty could maximize variance because of the push-fold situations you get into... but that's prob another thread.

In 6-max, usually never. Yes, it is too weak with no read. At least call flop and re-evaluate turn. You have position, use it.

Not very often, but everytime I am LRR'ed, I play cautiously.
I just noticed you are sitting with only 40-50bb. Like donny said, you get your money in everytime with such a short stack. It is very +EV to do so. My thoughts above refer to 100bb stacks though.
