July poker is finished for me - off to scandanavian climes for a few weeks. So, here goes:

a month with loads of learning. On a-game, on variance, on improving my a-game, on tilt.
21 buyins behind on AIEV, about another $1k blown through bad/tilty play.

So, net:
+ $700 FR
+ $525 iron man mid-year
+ $1150 rakeback
+ $400 learning 6-max
+ $125 party bonus

= $2900, plus a coupla hundred worth of fpps at various sites

Not as bad as it could have been I guess...

I just did this:

$0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
Hero (UTG) ($100.50)
CO ($142.32)
BTN ($93.20)
SB ($100.50)
BB ($132.02)

Pre-flop: ($1.50, 5 players) Hero is UTG
Hero raises to $3.50, CO calls $3.50, 2 folds, BB calls $2.50

Flop: ($11, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $82, CO goes all-in $138.82, BB folds, Hero goes all-in $15

Turn: ($246.82, 2 players)

River: ($246.82, 2 players)

Final Pot: $246.82
CO shows:

CO wins $243.82 ( won +$101.50 )
Hero lost -$100.50
BB lost -$3.50

by accident so I'm quitting for the month. It's just not meant to be.

July was my worst month ever I think, definitely my worst month in the last two years. Also my second 40 buy in downswing.

Here it is in big blinds:

and in euros:

Bring on August! 10k upswing here we come!

Lol, the misclick is never done when they don't have the nuts.

Nice to know I'm not the only one hurting lately. Though I think my epic bad run is possibly ending. $500 more and my self instituted "grounding" at 50NL is over..

Hmm... I'm down ~$6k since June (30 buyins at 1/2).

Although it sucks they are downswinging, just knowing players like Griffey and Irisheyes can downswing like they are and still be composed, makes me feel more confident that I can do it also.

Thanks man! hoping to turn things around in August....gonna try to get my red line under control!

If I have a losing month in August and my red line is out of control positive and my blue line is out of control negative again, $50 to the first person who quotes this in the August thread and tells me to get my act together.

Irish - you'll turn it around, variance is a killer!

Pretty good month, got even from last month + a little, but the most important thing is I feel like I'm playing better poker than I ever have, which also correlates with me realizing how much more there is left for me to learn (which is exciting and motivating).

Red line is kind of interesting, at like 44,000 hands was when I figured out how to crush 50NL and have positive nonshowdown, and then at like 62,000 is when I moved up and have been a little less willing to make moves but this hesitation is slowly leaving as I remember what it's like to play for $100 instead of $50.

Ran $0.83 above AIEV lol.

Since May I've had a 14k downswing (down 11 in EV), but for some reason I only lost 700 bucks in may and I came up 4k in June? How does that work?

Here's since May:

don't feel so bad I suppose seeing some others are in the same boat.
moved down from 1/2 to 0.5/1 to work on my game. a few hundred hands at 2/4 were in there as well.

some hands were missed tue to HEM/harddisk running out of space issues.
after RB/Bonus etc I was - $760USD

running 4470 behind ev almost entirely at 1/2 made my head hurt. some people say ev doesn't matter since it's a small factor but I've never experienced it to be this extreme. hopefully it'll be the last time for a long time.

not sure if QQ/KK/AA/AK frequency is high or low at 2.4%

44 only played tourneys in July. Only playing outside on the porch enjoying the summer.

About 10k in buyins and 10k in cashes. Gotta say FTP is like totally fucking rigged btw, at least my luckbox on stars is much better. I tried for a while to always get it in with the worst hand, but that doesn't seem to work either. Every tourney ends in a suckout, always. Still need to get used to that, but at least I'm just laughing every time it happens. Got to say I'm amazed at how bad tourney players are on average. Even most tourney regs.

i dont know if i was distracted with the baby coming or what, but i didn't have a winning session after july 11th. Played really well to start the month and just fucking tanked it.

also the least amount of hands i've played in a month since late 07 i think.

it depends on how hard you bluff the regs because games are all the same right now: 2 regs for every fish or worse
