Opponent is breakeven reg but definitely not very good. This is only the 2nd time he's 3bet in a couple hundred hands and he just doesn't raise much period to the point where it is noticeable. The only previous hand that he has 3bet with was 99, where he made it an oversized bet preflop so he's probably fairly weak.
Am I the only one that uses this hand to strengthen my calling range in this spot vs his 3bets or should I be just 4betting it preflop and puking if he shoves?
No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (2 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Hero (SB) ($265.40)
BB ($315)
Preflop: Hero is SB with J , J
Hero bets $5, BB raises $20, Hero ...
If it matters--I'm thinking postflop play against this guy is going to be fairly easy to play against in position.

I am usually 4b/calling JJ against a reasonable opponent. Calling here can't really be bad though.

you can go either way. If you're more familiar with his postflop habits then call.

I dont play HU but I do have a question!
If your opp is as tight as you say he is, what hands can he call a 4b with that you beat? And wont a 4bet just entice him to go over the top with hands like AQ AK, putting you to a very tough decision?

HU is so liquid. I certainly use premium hands to strengthen lots of ranges, but it's all metagame, here, right? I think this play is fine, and if you are merging lines really well then it's just style points as you pwn him.
Of course, I've been playing HU for all of 4 days now, so grain of salt it...
