Lukie is on a distinguished road
Setting up the scenario: you raise and have a little bitch on your left who likes to 3-bet you frequently, both in and out of position. If this player is good, they become extremely difficult to deal with. Referring to myself in the third person, when he is on top of his game and not either a) spewing off buyins, or b) nitting it up hardcore because of A, Lukie fits this description.

Basically the situation goes like this: CO opens a lot of hands here. Lukie 3-bets his button here a lot. There are decent hands that the CO has that have somewhat decent equity against Lukie's still superior range, but still aren't good enough for a call. Basically, low pairs and Axs. Assuming CO isn't out of line and Lukie will fold a lot of hands to a push, it's alright to push these hands on occasion as a semi-bluff. Axs would likely be preferable but I'm not really sure. We're assuming that Lukie folds all unpaired hands here except possibly AK, which he calls with in this hand.

Umm, I dunno. Thoughts?

The hand isn't really important but it kinda puts a visual on things. Obviously low pairs are preferrable when the other guy has AK and Axs is preferable when the other guy has a big pair (keep in mind the 'other guy''s range has to include a small percentage of big pairs and he probably has to be able to fold JJ/sometimes QQ here.

If hes doing it as a one off just to tell you to stop 3 betting him light then i guess its ok.

If you keep doing it though I dont think he can keep pushing 77. AQ-AJ maybe but not 77. The problem with low pairs are that almost everything you open with is a cointoss with it or a massive favorite (and youre never calling with 66-22). The first time he does it youre probably folding QQ-, AQ- but if he does it more often youll start calling more and with a range that destroys him.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

If the guy actually has a strong hand chances are he's not going to 4-bet push. So yes call with a wide range i think. I probably call with TT+, AQ+. But only if you know he knows your fucking with him by three-betting light.
Check out the new blog!!!

save these dumps for the players who you see often and that will allow their image of you to be changed because of it. this play should have little to do with the there and now and much more to do with the relationship you're trying to establish with him over the long term.
In answer to your question... it depends...
