Got a read?
Another $5 to induce a bluff or weak call or even avoid showdown also has merit.

Well, on the turn I picked up 2pair but I wasn't happy because that made 4 to a straight on the board. So, on the river I was thinking two things:
1. He has the queen - he's just calling my last bet since the board was paired (unless he was a complete donkey and thought his Q3 was the nuts). I make less here by betting instead of checking, letting him bet, and then raising.
2. He doesn't have the queen - he's folding to my bet period. sure he might look me up once in a while but i doubt it. if i check to him i have more chance of making money because he can bluff.
3. He has a bigger fullhouse and I'm losing no matter what.
I like betting small like you said fnord, I didn't think of that. You think a $5 bet here or checking the river will more in the long run?

Betting, players like to check the river behind with lots of hands. If his hand is hopeless, you might draw a bluff on a board like this and I don't think $5 is going to do much to discourage it.

i think i have to bet here
enough to make sure he calls and not enough to frighten him off
Unless i had the nuts or im making a bluff id check behind if given the chance on a large proportion of occasions.
imo you have to bet here acting first to hope for more money to go into the pot

You played it fine, you need to get value from a Q, trips or smaller fullhouse. Inducing a bluff IMO is just not going to work, the board is too scary and he will most likely opt not too bluff if he is on missed flush draw. You won't see a bigger full house there too often, he would need to be a complete idiot to slowplay JJ on that board and KK is not very likely.
