after a horror week of -10 buyins, i have uninstalled pokerstars from my computer. some of it has come from a cumulative effect of playing slightly scared due to having shitty luck, but mostly from losing with KK or AA heads up when someone flops 2pair, getting outdrawn like a c#$% and just generally not having the poker gods on my side . i might finish my uni exams and take a roadtrip to the snow for a while and enjoy the great outdoors.. this is my final hand for 3 weeks.. i knew he didn't have shit and through my tilt coloured glasses i knew the correct move was to call but alas.. rivered again..

If you have to delete a site and never play there again because of getting a bit of a bad beat with your marginal hand then i don't know what to say other than suck it up princess.

But hopefully you'll come back from your roadtrip w/ a better state of mind and be able to get back to the tables.

Do one of two things:

1) fold pre-flop
2) thank god that you play with people bad enough to make that play on the turn

At micro-limits there will be more bad beats but your winrate is higher (much higher) because of it - stop complaining.

well one part of my game i really need to work on is keeping my head and playing proper poker after i take some bad beats.. which is why i'm taking some time out. when i'm on my game my reads are mostly dead on (and in this case they were), but i just got sucked out.

anyone here have trouble keeping their head after bad beats? i play badly when i'm playing scared.. there are a couple of times that i should have moved all-in to bluff someone off a hand and didn't do it becuse of fear. also when i'm playing badly i play waaay to consistently, and i don't mix up my play enough.. but when i'm playing well i'll be completely randomising things and terrorising the table..

ugh..

If you check down a couple topics in this forum I had basically the same thing happen.

I got really upset becaue the person made a call they shouldn't have made but sucked out on the river, but after posting on here, I decided it was partly my fault.

My J7 two pair lost to a straight on the river. I should have folded pre-flop with that, and you probably should of had with yours too.

Even if you hit something on the board, there is a reason why hands like these aren't good to play. They are prone to get sucked out on.

I wouldnt even call that a bad beat, you were beat almost all the way, a bad beat is when i had 99 and the flop came 962, turn was a K, we both got all of our money in and the river was a 6, he showed 66. That was a pretty bad day.

drama queen! you unistalled the program because you lost $1.15?!?! if you lose your head after getting a 'bad beat' for this kind of money, you are playing the wrong game.

why don't you just play with play money? this is just a waste of time. i hear there is a good poker video game coming out soon.....maybe that is more up your alley.

hey hey hey.... keep it friendly, don't berate him because of the stakes he plays... it was a beat for his whole stack.

keep the browbeating to the fact that he's telling a bad beat story and those only perpetuate the failings of a poor player.

I reiterate what dwarfy said, STBY.
