So as I'm getting better at this whole shorthanded thing, I'm beginning to learn that most of the important pots aren't for stacks. Instead, value betting/calling seems to be way more important than setfarming/busting people with AA/KK, etc. I've had a lot of success calling people down with what would be -EV hands in FR, but a number of times have come up where I felt like a station calling, and have lost the showdown subsequently.

I stopped 12 tabling and started 4 tabling with a heavy emphasis on reads after getting berated for not having better ones and after getting stacked.

Here are my current stats/image:

VPIP: 21.92
PFR: 17.8
TAF: 3.01
Fold to SB steal: 79.4
Fold to BB steal: 72.8
ATT 2 steal: 34.45
W$@SD: 47.9
Went to SD: 32.0%

If you need any more stats let me know...

I generally try to steal from the CO/BU with SCs down to 65s, SOGs down to 75s, Axs, Ace-rag, Kxs, K8o+, plus my regular opening range.

Here are a few hands where I felt like a station as I mentioned.

Villain here is 33/30/10 after about 60 or so hands.
He has a fold to BB % of 60, which is on the low side, making me suspect he was 3betting me light. He has a c-bet of 100%, so I put him on AIR on the flop/turn. Still, I think it's spewy..
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($56.60)
SB ($65.65)
BB ($50)
UTG ($41.95)
MP ($103.20)
CO ($62)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, T.
3 folds, Hero raises to $2, SB raises to $7.5, 1 fold, Hero calls $5.50.

Flop: ($15.50) 8, T, 7 (2 players)
SB bets $11.7, Hero calls $11.70.

Turn: ($38.90) 4 (2 players)
SB bets $46.45 (All-In), Hero calls $37.40 (All-In).

River: ($113.70) 9 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $113.70

Here's another. This guy is a major station/donk and is quite passive over a small sample (18 hands only), but I think he was relatively unknown at the time of the hand..

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($52.70)
Button ($61.95)
SB ($28)
BB ($51.80)
UTG ($81.90)
MP ($60.20)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 2, K.
2 folds, Hero raises to $2, Button calls $2, SB raises to $3.5, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.50, Button calls $1.50.

Flop: ($11) K, T, 9 (3 players)
SB bets $4, Hero calls $4, Button calls $4.

Turn: ($23) K (3 players)
SB bets $20.5 (All-In), Hero calls $20.50, Button folds.

River: ($0) 7 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $64

Villain here is like 60/20/4 or something stupid. Nothing funny at this point.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (3 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($75.15)
SB ($46)
BB ($39.80)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K, A.
Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, BB calls $1.50.

Flop: ($4.25) A, T, 3 (2 players)
BB bets $0.5, Hero raises to $4, BB calls $3.50.

Turn: ($12.25) T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $8, BB raises to $33.8, Hero calls $25.80.

River: ($79.85) J (2 players)

Final Pot: $79.85

Villain is like 25/19/3 and we've been talking trash/battling it out. I posted this before, but I want more feedback. We've been 3betting light and I started to 4bet light recently. I nutted his set with a turned str8 after he slowplayed it, and he called me a donk afterwards, if that means anything.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP ($51.10)
CO ($15.30)
Hero ($65.25)
SB ($174)
BB ($51.60)
UTG ($31.25)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7, A.
3 folds, Hero raises to $2, SB calls $1.75, 1 fold.

Flop: ($4.50) 7, J, A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $4, SB calls $4.

Turn: ($12.50) 6 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $8, SB calls $8.

River: ($28.50) Q (2 players)
SB bets $19.5, Hero calls $19.50.

Final Pot: $67.50

Finally, this guy is a loose-passive. Like 30/2/.25.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Button ($30.20)
SB ($4.90)
Hero ($238.45)
UTG ($50)
MP ($14.40)
CO ($47.90)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7, K.
1 fold, MP calls $0.50, 1 fold, Button calls $0.50, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($2) K, Q, 2 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP checks, Button checks.

Turn: ($2) 4 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2, MP calls $2, Button folds, SB folds.

River: ($6) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $4, MP raises to $11.9, Hero calls $7.90.

Final Pot: $29.80

Soooooo.....tell me if I sucky at the pokery.

I would fold K-7 after the river raise and A-7 facing the river donk bet. The A-K hand is marginal against a passive player, but I still probably call since he could be overplaying a worse ace. The others look good.

Opponent has a Ten there an absurd amount of the time given his line.

I don't think so. I've called here a number of times and had villain flip over an A-Q that he was "trapping" me with, or something like Qh-Jh or Kh-Qh.

nutsinho will become famous soon enough
1 and 5 are bad 2-4 are marginal but ok
plz dont choose ATo as a hand to defend against a 3bet vs an aggro player. Defend T9s.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

Actually, I misread the A-T hand. I thought you had reraised preflop and he called. Yeah, this should be folded somewhere.

Preflop is where it should be folded. Freech, it looks like u are using the fact that u are opening lighter from the CO/Button to justify making loose calls with the absolute bottom of your range. U aren't raising with marginal hands and junk so u end up getting stacked with it, ur doing it to steal blinds and also help u get action when u have an actual hand. "I've been raising a lot so he must be 3-betting light and double barreling with air" is going to get u stacked way more often than u'll stack them.

I'm not overly fond of the K2 hand either, but once u call flop u have to call turn really (since i assume u aren't giving him credit for the case K).

Thanks for all your feedback! Yes I agree kettleofish, I have this mentality sometimes of thinking that my opponents are playing back at me just as much as I am at them. And sure enough that's what gets me stacked. I'll stop playing these marginal hands in 3-bet pots then! Thanks a lot once again.

It's something i fall victim to a lot as well if i don't stop myself. OMG HE RAISED THE BUTTON HE'S OBVIOUSLY STEALING, I'LL 3-BET WITH Q7... oh wait, he has KK

Good for your image tho, i'll say that much!
