100bb effective, I've just joined the table so this guy is unknown.

My first idea was to call and b/f turn, but if I did that I'd be getting like 4:1 or something on his push and so I'm potfucked.

If I shove, I'm pretty sure my equity vs. his calling range sucks.

But WTF I have an overpair in a raised pot how can i fold?!!

Dealer: Starting a new hand (#679137463)
Dealer: R3sistance posts Small Blind $0.50
Dealer: infaust posts Big Blind $1
Dealer: Dealing cards
Dealer: Your cards :Jd: :Jc:
2 folds
Dealer: rednot calls $1
Dealer: R3sistance raises $6
Dealer: infaust calls $5.50
1 fold

Dealer: Dealing Flop

Dealer: R3sistance bets $9
Dealer: infaust raises $23

I feel like we at least need to call and re-evaluate on the turn though. There are so many hands that might raise you hear. Lots of lower-mid pairs, as well as combo draws on this board 56,45 etc.

I call and check the turn. I'd imagine most hands that don't beat an overpair would check through on the turn.

If we're losing $18 every time we get it in, do we have enough FE to shove the flop?

griffey, if it checks through to the river and we don't see a 2,3,4,5,6,7, are we c/calling all bets? Or do we try to make a little blocking bet and fold to a raise?[/quote]

id call too. if checked through on the turn, check call (maybe bet-call) blank rivers.

I call flop and check turn, if he bets turn I will either fold or push turn depending of my feel for opponent and turn card.

"If not then why raise so much preflop?"

I have the third nuts, I want him to put as much money with worst hands as I can get him to.

"don't forget weaker overpairs too."

Is he srsly stacking off with 77 here?

Just because he raises on a blank flop doesnt necessarily mean hes going to stack off w/ 77/88 type hands. I like a call and check turn. If the turn checks through obv. call a reasonable river bet.

i think you need to include all pp's through QQ, personally. plus, because he raises you with position tells you squat this early, imo. he could be thinking you are cbetting and raise you with AQ+ or even KQ and other weaker overcards.

to get an accurate range for pstove, dont you need to widen that range? besides, do you think 64 and 53 are calling that large a raise pf?

i think with this low-ass flop, he is putting you on AK as often as an overpair.

you need to see what he does on the turn....if you dont RR the flop.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
