something is wrong with the HH. He raised it to 3 and I made it 6.50 to go because AP sucks and it randomly wont accept bet amounts to be keyed so i just moved the slider up. I didnt just raise it by 2.5 i doubled his raise. Anyways, wats up on this flop?

Man, it's almost impossible to tell. He could be messing with you with AK. More likely, he has a lesser overpair, tens through kings - probably jacks or queens, since he flat-called your re-raise before the flop. I think the least likely scenario is that he has a set (nines), but it's certainly possible. I don't know, I think there's a good chance I'm going all in here, and if he's got the set he's getting paid off.

agreed with dale, if hes got a set you have to pay him off.
If I were him I could see you making your reraise pf with
high cards so it would be worth taking a shot at the pot
If he had a set he might wait on the reraise on a ragged
board like that.

I concur as well. I think a set players a bit slower here. Id say there are two possilities here. Since I'm assuming hes a semi-competent player, there is a slim chace he has lower pockets that have improved to a set, in which case you double him up. Otherwise, it smells to me like QQ or KK maybe? I'd say there is a very good chance your crushing him at this point. I think you push here, and hope he didnt drag 22, 77, or 99 into a hand (Can you make a read here? i.e. does he call big raises and reraises with lower pockets hoping to catch and take down AA?) He didnt really get implied odds to call your reraise with low pockets, so I'd say just push in and cross your fingers.

Not only would he have to call the raise with low pockets, he would have to have opened the pot for a 2xBB raise with that same hand. Does that sound like 22 to you? In a cash game, in middle position? Not to me. 77 or 99 is plausible, but I just don't know if he plays it that way on the flop. I'm not saying he wouldn't, but I also think he'd do the exact same thing with tens, jacks, queens, maybe even A9. There's so many hands he could play that way that you're ahead of. I think I'm pushing.

I paid off 77

It really feels like minraises are big hands at this site because everybody is afraid to bet anything less.

Rough. I think you made a fine decision, it just didn't pan out. He played it well and caught you with the right hand.

I dont really think he played well preflop? What do I know though.

EDIT: maybe he did ok, after the inital raise he risks $4 off his stack against $50ish, I guess if he really thinks you are going to pay him off all the way...

EDIT again: nvm, after sitting and thinking about it for a minute I guess he did have implied odds against you, and made the perfect play to pot commit you to a push/fold situation on the flop.

Why do you say that? He opened the pot with a middle pocket pair - not a bad thing in a short-handed game. He called a moderate re-raise and got doubled up when he flopped his set. Looks fine to me.

yeah, I was originally thinking, "Risked $6.50 to win $50, bad call." I forgot he had opened and only had to call a mini reraise.
