How do you play HU against an opponent when the others have gone out quickly and blinds are too small to affect the stacks? For example, your stack is 9000, with your opponent having 5000, with blinds equalling 25/50. The level changes in 3 or 4 minutes, even then blinds will still be insignificant. How do you play?

Depends on my opponent. This is an ideal situation if you're a good post-flop player, and are used to playing flops heads up. But you still require an opponent who isn't one of these super-aggressive types who will be pushing all in a lot just because it's heads up play. If your opponent is willing and you're good post-flop, I'd try to see more flops and bet it out. I'd employ a lot of moderate raises (2-3x BB) pre-flop and then bet on a lot of flops until I met resistance. Then you just feel it out.

I think that would ultimately depend on the person you are playing. If they were hyper agressive push/fold regardless of the blinds..I would probably camp around for a while to get them on a real hand where you have an edge.

If they were still relatively tight due to the ability to wait around I would be semi agressive in order to take the pots with the general decent HU's hands..but not so much that they aren't giving you any chips post flop, as that is where you will need to be making your money as stealing a few rounds of blinds won't do much.

I would take this as a good opportunity to work on true HU play, instead of forcing eachother into a coinflip for the win.

Wait til blinds get bigger, open up the aggression. You can probably establish a weak/tight HU image cheaply.
