So you could rule out AK/AJ/trash? Then you're either pwned by A8/AQ/set or you're a bit in front vs. a big draw.

Fold.

17/12? That's pretty damn solid, I'd fold.

I would have to call the push. Even if he is ahead, you can draw out to win. This would be with no other knowledge, other then his stats. Was he raising many SBs on you previously? If so it makes the call easier.

For some reason, though, my gut is saying he's ahead currently. I don't know why, just a feeling.

Calling to draw out is a poor motivation to call, because If we're behind that means we're drawing to two outs and could possibly be drawing dead.

Understood. And I agree most of the time, and probably would fold. But this is a blind battle right? May warrant extra thought.

So what happened?

17/12 and he pushed like that into you?

Q8 is no good here on this board, unless you spike another 8. Even then you may not be good.

After careful consideration, I wish to pull back my last statement about calling completely. Any reraise like this (to All-In) generally means your behind. Save your chips for a better oppurtunity.

Hero doesn't cover the push. We're only about 100 bets deep, for what it's worth.

Sounds like you called, or he showed his cards. Question: was this the first blind battle you got involved with him? Or were there others?

What were they like?

I'd probably call. Not results oriented.

I'm a huge fish though, so take it fwiw.

i called. and honestly i dont remember any previous blind battles with us but i dont really remember well. and looking back now in pt seeing hands he played it looks like he over values overpairs and TPTK. i stacked him again like 10 hands later when i hit a set and he had AA on the flop. and he lost with KK to a set.
