also what do you think of the 2nd barell, planning to bet non-straight river?

Hand 1). The hands that makes the most sense are 9-8s/10-8s. Without a specific read villain won't lead the turn/donk the flop with a draw i prefer a fold to the strong turn check/raise.
Hand 2). Looks good to me.
EDIT: with A-A i would play exactly the same. That river bet looks like a full house/nut flush.

What is your reason for checking this draw heavy flop in hand 1?

so that you can play the hand this way, call the river and profit

when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

ya, it gets value later when im more confident about my hand. plus it's not like i have TT or something if i check the flop. it's not my standard play, i just felt like it this time.
also, i think villain's range is mostly PPs which are almost drawing dead, but he prob will call them down on turn and river.
the c/r was unexpected but it was hard to put him on much at all so i called.

I can see why we want to get the money in on the first hand now on the river. But there are a ton of bad river cards, and there are some hands he would check on a scary river that beat us. Would you shove a 3rd spade river if villain checked to you instead of bet?
As for whether or not to bet barrel A-A on the turn in hand 2, i think given that the flop has both an OESD/FD possible we need to bet again for value/charge draws.
Even if the board were really dry, i would fire 3 streets since it's the best line for a bluff on the same board.

hmm, didnt even think of that. id still check a spade river since a boat prob goes for c/r and if he called with 8xs preflop then nh.

i was actually asking if firing again with QJ was good, not considering metagame or whatnot.
with AA i definitely agree, but still wonder about folding the river since his line seemed weird to me.
also, another reason i checked the flop in #1 was i was playing pretty spewy aggro and felt villain would c/r it, but didnt want to call that on the flop.
