This made a great topic on 2+2, what are your goals for this month ?
Mine are ..
1. Play 30k+ hands.
2. Winrate of 4-5ptbbs/100
3. Stop spewing postflop.
4. Be able to lay down AA/KK when it's obvious somebody flopped a set.
5. Lose the minimum when I'm card dead and win the most when the deck manages to hit me in the face.
6. Practice better table selection, minimum of two donators and maximum of two decent tags.
7. Avoid any big downswings.
8. Move up to 400nl at the end of the month.

1. Clear bonuses for SunPoker & InterPoker.
2. Clear any Party bonuses that pop up.
3. Play 5000 hands.
4. Work on getting up and leaving tables when I know they are not profitable instead of trying to beat the good players.
5. Get better at recognizing and controling my TILT.
6. Stop trying to hit a home run with good but not nut hands.
7. Pay more attention at tables when I am not in a hand to get better notes/reads.
8. Make a couple hundo + bonuses.
9. Dabble at 100NL by end of month.
10. BUY POKERTRACKER!!!!

1. Buy a new computer with a nice monitor so I can finally stop 6-tabling on my stupid laptop with 1024*768 resolution.
2. Play 20K hands of 6-max ring.
3. Move back up to 200NL.
4. Post at least three hands per week, including at least one that produces a lot of discussion.
5. Stop making marginally bad plays at the end of tournaments. Sit down with PokerStove and a calculator for a few hours and think about when to push with a short stack.
I think results-oriented goals are kind of stupid, because you can't control the results, all you can do is play your best. That being said, I'd love to make June my first 5K+ month.

My original goal was to be bankrolled for NL50 by June 6th but that isn't gonna happen anymore.
So instead I'm gonna take all of June off. Read some books. Get PokerTracker. Try to find some leaks. And hopefully come back with a better attitude. Plus I just started working 2 jobs so my time is a lot more limited then it used to be.
I refuse to believe I can't be a winning poker player. I was up to $500 combined on PP and PS before losing most of it. The same thing that happens every time. So I need to take some time off.

I'm in Fairfax, which is right by D.C. Do you know of any cash games around here?
I would say my goal is to develop better emotional control, and get better at quitting when I'm losing and not playing well. And to stop cashing out so much.

1. Get bankroll past 10k
2. Play smart and try to put people on hands
3. Add more tables (just went from 2 to 3)
4. Play tighter
5. Lay down hands when I'm beat
6. Think about the best way to extract the most from every hand

WTF, you're never going to win a lot of money if you keep cashing out down to $100. I think you have the potential to make a lot of money at this game but you're not giving yourself a chance.

4. Work on getting up and leaving tables when I know they are not profitable instead of trying to beat the good players. check
5. Get better at recognizing and controling my TILT. work in progress
6. Stop trying to hit a home run with good but not nut hands. Pot control improved, but not great yet
7. Pay more attention at tables when I am not in a hand to get better notes/reads. failed

1-Only 66k away.
2-Meh, I won and I think I improved my blind play and OOP play. This month was my first month only playing 6max instead of FR and it was much funner.
3-I played the $100for 1,392 hands at +8.40bb/100 but I thought that staying at the $50 was more profitable. At the $100 I wanted to drop down to 6 tables instead of 8 and table selection was worse at the $100 so I didn't think it was worth it. When I get the br for the $200 I'll play at the $100 for maybe $25k hands and then move up.
4-Fell about $2026.54 short of this but there are still 2 1/2 days left!!!!

I didn't really meet any of my goals. I don't have a summer job this year so I'm at home, and telling the parents about poker didn't go nearly as well as I had hoped. I only played 9K hands of 100NL and made 3K, but I lost half of that in an ill-fated attempt to move up to 200NL. Between bonus whoring and a couple of tournaments I made 2K this month, worst month in awhile unfortunately.

I went on vacation for a week in the middle which cut into things. I've been running poorly too. I got KK 30 times and ran into AA 3 of them. Ace on the flop most of them. Outdrawn the others. Had two boats lose to quads. Lost money while tilting. Not getting paid when I do hit (which isn't happening often). Rough month but not overly bad - just sucks to miss my goals. OK, all that negativety is done - just had to write it down so I can look back next month. July will have the same goals. I won't fail this time.
