So my thinking went the flush completes and Ill be able to get a good pot from him. In my notes I have him calling the river when he hits trips and not raising, so i figured a large bet would make me more money if he was going for the flush.
Should I have raised much smaller for value, and is that overthinking at this limit?

daven will become famous soon enough
stack sizes. As played I bet the river smaller, give them a reason to go over the top of your bet if they did hit the flush, and call if they didn't (extracting max value). Chances are that a flush will re-raise a smaller bet and then call your push. Raise just under pot, about $1.80-$2

I definately agree that thats the best line to take, but with this specific player I had seen him show down several large hands by just calling the river and not raising for value. At this point I was afraid he would not come over top if he made the flush, and would call nothing if he did not make the flush.
