Anyone interested?
We'd have to agree on the stakes so we could include everyone but I think it would be fun. We'd just setup a private HU tourney on Stars and gogogogogogogogogogo.
Oh yea, I don't come to lose.

Yea, I was thinking $20
I really like 2+2's format. They made it a double rebuy with no blind escalations meaning you start 300bb deep. The matches take much longer but it is certainly less of a crapshoot.

What we would do is make that tourney a $.01 buying with $.01 rebuys. Right off the bat you rebuy twice to make your stack go from 1000 to 3000 and the blinds stay at 5/10 the entire time.
We'd just escrow the entries with a trusted member

no, cuz there will be multiple rounds dude
If we start with 16 players, there will be 4 rounds, you just made it a $60 entry if you get to the finals.

i would like to do it, but I am a microstake player. I want to play for experience, but I know I will most likely loose.
I like the .01 buy in and .01 rebuy, but that is because I am poor and cant afford a $15 game.

why not just have it a mtt hu freezeout? the blinds aren't even really that bad. we don't have to be 300 bbs deep the whole time, do we?
that being said, im in and i hope i draw spenda in the first round

yeah mtt hu would be simpler..
the 2+2 tourney is high stakes 5k buyin, and it takes like 2 weeks to complete each round.
if we're only 16 or so might as well do a HU MTT as long as the blinds arent horrible...and its a looooot less complicated to organized IMO

good idea. a HU mtt wouldnt be good because it could take forever to complete, and a constant blind will make for better play overall.

OMG THAT WAS MY IDEA!!!
HMMMPFH
Yea, bracket style certainly works, here's what we need.
1. Someone to hold the entries on Stars
--Trusted member obv
2. Sign-up Sheet
3. Brackets thereafter
4. Rules/Regs
-Must play by this date, best of 3 matches, etc...
Here's the 2+2 High Stakes Thread of how they did it, thinking it would be cool to do it this way: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...page=0&fpart=1

As of now this is who I've seen say "in" or be interested. Also, "shit-talking" is flat-out mandatory. Forum-members who remain cordial throughout the entire process with we subject to ridicule and temp-bans. Well, at least ridicule. Well, actually, nothing at all, but come on ppl...LET"S GET IT ON!
1. Bode- I'll sign this shit for your younger brother
2. Zee Devee- Pack attack
3. Sauce- Guide's won't save you in this one
4. Setzy- Cannot 12 tbl this shit
5. Massimo- twin-killing
6. EzDuzit- Ez as your Mom
7. Bjaust - little kid with a dream
8. Zook- Winless like Anna
9. Alexos- ShipitHolla Lolla
10. GMML- I'll get Hartlin to coach you, you'll be fine
11. Bigspenda73- ball-game
12. Jack Sawyer- BR degen
13. Renton- Marathon man at poker, minute man with the ladies
14. ISF- 30-3 will not be your HU record
15. Ravageur- I don't even know you, but I hate 'yo guts
16. Genitruc- Finding more and more ways to play less hands a day
OK, we need at least 0 more and I'm sure there will be some dropouts so we could definitely use an alternates list. Let's gogogogogogogogogogo.

ok so there would be like a entry fee for the whole thing (how much?).
and then if we did it this way how much would the actual buyins be for the matches?

Ok, so lemme get this straight:
Code:
the buyin is $20.
the actual buyin for the tourney is .01/.02
blinds are same throughout
bracketed, like a playoff
prizes? bragging rights?
does winner get a nice graphic: FTR HU CHAMP 07 under winners avatar (like the FTR gauntlett guys)?
I'm such a fish @ HU.
however, if winner gets a nice graphic: FTR HU CHAMP 07 under winners avatar (like the FTR gauntlett guys), then I'm in.

I won't promise anything (well, cuz I can't) but I think the winner should get a Title under his/her name.
Once and for all this is how the buyin system works.
1. We get a list of 16 players or 32 or whatevs to balance a bracket
2. Those 16 players all transfer the entry fee ($20) to one player on Stars
3. We draw brackets
4. There will be private individual HU tourneys set up on PS, password protected.
5. These tournaments will have an entry fee of $.01 with the option to rebuy for $.01.
6. Starting stacks will be 1k with rebuys of 1k and blinds a stagnant 5/10
7a. Each player will immediately rebuy twice upon sitting down bringing their stack to 3k chips and leaving us 300bb deep (omg postflop poker)
-OR-
7b. Each match will be 3 seperate HU matches with 100bb stacks and no blind movement as well. First to two wins, wins.
-OR- (and my personal favorite)
7c. Each match will be 3 seperate HU matches with 300bb stacks and no blind movement as well. First to two wins, wins.
***7c will take the longest but will provide the best champion.
8. If the tournament is 16 players the payout structure will be:
1. 50% of prize pool ($160)
2. 25% of prize pool ($80)
3,4- 12.5% of prize pool ($40,$40)
9. Gogogogogogogogogo

We need to get Mr. X in on the title thing. I could whip one up, but it wouldn't be official

Just because two players are playing 300 deep doesn't mean the "best player" will win. Playing deep, like playing shortstacked, just requires a little different skill sets. That being said, I personally would like it to be 100-150BB deep.

Actually, 7b is better than 7c.
Maybe best of 5? Best of 7 for later rounds?
Lets make this like an NBA playoff, a real playoff

I'd like to finish sometime .
Best of 3 is fine. 100BB seems fine, but thats because I'm used to tournies so its what I'm used to. Is 200-300xBB really realistic? How often do any of us find ourselves playing that normally (effective HU)?

Best of 3 is plenty in all rounds.
BTW, should we be forcing multi-tabling?
