if you could vote for 6 FTR players to play in a 6MAX match, who would you pick? and just for fun let's assume that the stakes are either $1/2 or $2/4nl. your nominations may or may not matter, but if i were you i would err on the side of nominating players you would actually like to see play against each other 
i'm not saying, i'm just saying.

when I play it's 6 max, but the last 6 months it's just once a week or so after I watch High Stakes Poker and I get to jonsesing to play some ring. Then I remember that I don't have fun when I play cash. I see the value because people play bad, I wish I liked it more.
I was also playing to try and clear my bonus at FT last month, but it looks like I can do that playing their 100+ tourneys (which have a better strucutre that stars) instead.

i believe i can prevent the usernames from showing up during the video recording so that shouldn't be a concern. however, the chosen participants would all have to know the screen names of each other, obviously. but i think we can do a little bit of masking of sensitive information, if that is a concern. but i won't be playing in the game, so it'll just be your standard observer view, which won't show hole cards etc.

ok i can give more details now, after having PMed w/ Xianti. i'm excited that there has been such a fast response to this topic, i think it demonstrates the level of general interest in getting something like this together. basically we're trying to setup a 6MAX match, played by the players that FTR community members nominate, on the site that is most convenient for the nominated players. i will videorecord the session in 30 minute intervals (suggested by Xianti) and then Xianti will make them available for streaming from the video portion of the site. i'll record for as long as the players want to play, so there might be a few files to stream to see the entire session. this is the first attempt at doing this so some stuff will work and we'll learn as we go along. not sure about downloadable formats yet but we'll check into that.
some questions, please give feedback:
1. i am unsure about publicizing the date and time of the match, to avoid the whole username exposure issue that gabe voiced. also, the point of recording it is so that you don't have to rail these players, you can watch at your leisure.
2. i am leaning more towards having the nominated players tell me where they'd like to play and for what stakes, as opposed to saying what they should be from the start. perhaps we could get some of the higher stakes names like aces and bmx and other to play, but perhaps they would not be interested in only $1/2 or whatever. so i'll try to help that group reach consensus. but since this is going to be a fun thing, maybe the players would be willing to play for the lowest common denomination, whatever that turns out to be. or bankroll grudgematch, whatever.
3. sound: i'm no gabe kaplan and am doubtful that any of you would be interested in MY analysis of what the players are doing. accordingly, it would probably just be game and system sounds. i can envision using TS or Vent or something like that, which I think I could record and add that audio layer to the production of the video. but if none of the players that get nominated use those services that will be hard to do, too. so i'm open to ideas on that.
let me know if there are other things you can think of that i should keep in mind when trying to organize this mess. i think it could really turn out to be pretty cool.

other issues to comment on:
i suggested 6MAX for this first go around because i thought it would be easier to schedule 6 players and an alternate or two as opposed to 10+2 on full ring. if things go well then perhaps next time we could look at full ring.
also as far as multi tables go: anyone who has seen the cardrunners 4 table or 2 table vidz know that a lot of detail is lost with multitable recording. i think i would probably prefer to try it as single table on the first go around, and then try other stuff on subsequent attempts.
i don't think its possible to 'reserve' a cash game table so it might take a few minutes to actually take over a table until its all FTR members. even if we're really coordinated and try to have everyone join table X at the same time, a random fish or two might sneak in the queue ahead of everyone. of course if that happens we can always ask them to leave. and if they don't comply, well it shouldn't take this group long to eat that poor sucker alive lol.
