Tough one...I wouldnt expect him to play a flopped straight that strong. You might be behind a set that is scared of the straight or ahead of a smaller 2 pair. Or maybe a complete bluff. Or maybe he played the flopped straight really strong hoping for a random call. Maybe hes all in on the draw. Yea maybe thats it..a draw. but probably not. basically what im saying is, i have no fucking clue so wait until you know whats up.

storm75m is an unknown quantity at this point
at these limits, call that shit all day. Don't give your opponents too much credit. If you're beat with top two pair, oh well, take your medicine and fight another day. No Fear. (IMO)

Is it just me or are a lot of these 25NL people making huge unnecessary bets a lot lately? Seems like everyone wants to be a maniac in training or something.

I've been calling these huge bets lately (if I have a good hand of course) and it seems like more and more people are just full of shit. (on Party at least)
Or maybe I'm just running hot right now.
Lack of Discipline and Over-Confidence... The root of all poker evil.

Looks like PP JJ TT or AA to me, probably not AA b/c he didn't come back at you PF. I wouldn't say str8 because he'd want you to come along for the ride. I'd like to think I would muck it w/a $40 bet into a $5 pot with only 4 outs to improve to a boat.
I'll be a rootin' tootin' shootin' damn fool, protectin' my chips.

If it weren't my money and I was an observer, I'd say he's full of shit.
But if it was my money, I painfully fold. That screams set to me. Doubtful he has a straight.
Dumb play on his move if he has a straight.
If he wants that $5 that badly, let him take it. Just take it back from him on another hand.

I fold.

Obviously this huge re-raise screams bluff, or "I have top pair weak kicker and I think you have nothing."

This is a tough call. I would normally call this except that he might have set and is trying to avoid you catching a flush or a strait. If he has the strait then he might be afraid of the flush. His possible hands include TT, JJ KQ, AT, AJ, TJ or a bluff or a semi-bluff. I give about a 10% that he has KQ because he would probably smooth call or min-raise. I give TT and JJ about a 35% chance. I give a bluff or semi-bluff at 20%. I give AT, AJ, and Tj about 35%. Since there is already money in the pot and a 55% chance that you are ahead or even and you still have a few outs I would grudgenly call.

I'm making this stuff up as I go along.

dude, that's not obvious at all. it's common for noobs to go all in the moent they hit 2 pair / set / strait... if i had a read on him it would be a lot easier to call

It's close but not so close that the decision doesnt matter.

You should call for a couple of reasons. Reasons I feel are pretty obvious and should have been covered already in this thread.

The big one is, "Why would KQ go AI there to protect itself?"

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.
