This is the first quad I really gain some money from, dont know if I could've gotten some more out of the hand if I had raised his bets on the flop or turn, but I wanted to see if someone would bluff or have a flush draw.

You ended up all-in. How could you get more from him than that?

Something I picked up from Harrington's book - When you have a made hand like this, it's good to make a small bet/raise on the turn, making sure that you're giving your opponent odds to make his flush. His reasoning is that if he does have a flush draw and you wait till the river you're only getting his money if he makes it.

I'm pretty sure you maxed out your profit for this hand, though, since you happened to induce a bluff by calling. This was a really horrible bluff by him after you raise preflop and suddenly just call his flop and turn bets when two aces hit.

I was reading in other places that the best two places to get money out of a made hand are on the flop or the river. On the flop, your continuation bet may be seen as just that and hopefully someone will not believe you'd play a made hand that fast. If you make your move on the river, people may think you're trying to buy the pot after showing no strength + they have been given 2 cards to catch up. I'm not saying this is always right, but it was interesting reading and it made sense to me.

I usually like to bet on the flop, and then check the turn when I flop a great hand. It looks like I tried to buy the pot, and then lost the stomach for it when my flop bet was called, just smells of weakness. Usually enough to get an AI on the river from someone trying to bully you out of the pot. Of course I play at the lower limits, so it might be different at the higher ones.

Everytime I have flopped quads (3 online, 1 live) I have always been out of position... kinda sucks, but at least you know you have a lock on the hand.
