If you insist on slow playing the flop you absolutely have to raise the turn.

I think this is a beautiful spot to c/r allin on turn, given your flop action which i don't have a problem with. Sometimes you could raise or lead there but nothing wrong with c/c imo.

arguments for calling river:
the hh suggests its a wild game
bodog 200nl
very under-repped hand

arguments for folding:
if he's a nit, he's going 200bb deep aggressively on this river without a boat almost never. especially given action on previous streets.

hmmm that is pretttty sick. i agree with lukie on flop action. its fine, but a c/r is also fine too. the hh seems to be a little messed up. it says UTG bets flop, UTG+1 folds, then it has UTG+1 betting turn.

anyways i think given that he is UTG raiser betting in a family pot, I don't think he as anything worse than an over pair. given that a lot of people have problems folding over pairs. he also will bet turn with over pair, so i think this is a good spot for c/r ai, as lukie said.

why did you lead the river without a very precise plan in this big of a pot?

The problem is that I can't get HH from Bodog so I have to type them all out myself. Sorry if everything wasn't exact. But please keep the comments coming..

I for one like the flop check/call but I would almost always c/raise all-in the turn even 200bb deep.

If you're going to play this way with 89s then don't play 89s. The whole point is to hedge a speculative hand against a strong UTG raising range based on implied odds, and then stack off when you hit.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?

I don't think Hero's hand is that under-repped, I mean this was a 5-way flop that nailed the range of hands people like to call raises with. People just don't mess around here. If villain bet the flop and the turn like that with just AA then he's terrible IMO (of course, he might have AA anyway, it is Bodog after all). When he bets the turn like that I'd pretty much put him on a set and c/r all-in.

I agree with the rest of the posts so far. Given how deep you are, I'd prob raise the flop trying to fill it up. I don't mind flop call and c/r on turn, but at some point on the flop or turn you need to build the pot.

As played, you're leading like $100 into a 300 pot?? I think this looks like such a weak block that he could be raising a very wide range here. Any reads on villain? I probably call after I lead so weak .. and potentially induce some sort of bluffs or even hands like AA could think its a value shove.

i agree with everyone here, dont slowplay this kinda board In terms of the hand, whats the point of playing scs when u are gonna play a flopped monster weak? The river seems like a puke call to me, you are pretty much devoted to the hand =/

edit
my comment was based on made up info sry, yeah if u called pf with an sc i think ur hand is pretty good, though a boat is not outta the equation. Again, puke call =D

The HH looks abit odd, is it UTG or UTG+1?

2 people and oop.. I would raise the flop. If you dont you hafto raise the turn, when he bets 90 I would assume its a monster so I'm allin.

Sorry about the HH, I can't get it from Bodog so I have to type everything out. Anyways, thanks for the input. c/r all in on the turn is what I should've done although I don't think he's folding anyways. He had 1010, rivered the boat on me.

I don't mind flop too much but you have to put more money in by the turn.
