I've had a bad run the past cpl days (mainly because of losing 2 flips worth 1700$ at nl200 lol). Feel like except for 1 or 2 spews I've played really well. I've pushed AK preflop 4 times in the past 2 days and been shown AA everytime (not exactly standard since ppl play back at me a lot).

My high-variance style lends itself to big swings, so this is to be expected, especially since I've started a grinding project where I'm actually gonna hopefully play some hands for once. As the regs pick up on my style, I'll be making necessary adjustements. I expect the first couple weeks to be a kind of feeling-out process.

Here are a couple hands that I think I played well from this morning's session. Any comments/thoughts appreciated but I'm posting these hands more to share them with ppl than for deep discussion.

My hud isn't working right now and I haven't used it for over 4 months anyways. My reads are mainly based on recent action at the table rather than stats over 10004340782738 hands.

Tough, but relatively standard call with AA. Figured villain would check/call with a 10 and would have bet the turn with a K. His likely holdings here imo are diamonds, JQ, 10x and Kx (in that order).

Still hard to pull the trigger since some of the donks are so unpredictable :

Total number of players : 6
Seat 1: salammalam ( $172.20 )
Seat 2: bill_ivey_69 ( $296.40 )
Seat 5: thinktank76 ( $147.77 )
Seat 6: shiroi_ryu ( $263.30 )
Seat 3: HERO ( $201 )
Seat 4: Sorte2006BR ( $200 )
HERO posts small blind [$1].
Sorte2006BR posts big blind [$2].

I've been running hot vs this guy on a few tables, firing bullets and making call-downs. He hasn't fired a 2nd bullet without the goods. That being said, he's seen me call flops and fold on the turn a couple times in reraised pots. His timing made me think he was fed up with my floating and wanted me out of the hand :

Seat 4 is the button
Total number of players : 6
Seat 5: bill_ivey_69 ( $264.95 )
Seat 4: HERO ( $224.55 )
Seat 6: A_Behemoth ( $429.46 )

HERO shows [ 9c, Ac ]a pair of Nines.
HERO wins $451.10 from the main pot with a pair of Nines.

Don't really have a justification for this hand (all streets are debatable). For some reason each street felt automatic :

Seat 3 is the button
Total number of players : 5
Seat 2: Joeeeik ( $206.69 )
Seat 3: Pluk30 ( $242.76 )
Seat 5: powin01 ( $59.66 )
Seat 6: rednirus ( $41.82 )
Seat 4: HERO ( $478.30 )
HERO posts small blind [$1].
powin01 posts big blind [$2].

** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to HERO [ Kc Kh ]
rednirus calls [$2]
Joeeeik folds.
Pluk30 calls [$2]
HERO raises [$9]
powin01 calls [$8]
rednirus calls [$8]
Pluk30 calls [$8]

** Dealing Flop ** [ 3c, Ts, Kd ]
HERO checks.
powin01 checks.
rednirus checks.
Pluk30 checks.

** Dealing Turn ** [ 8d ]
HERO bets [$25]
powin01 folds.
rednirus folds.
Pluk30 raises [$68]
nofitstate has joined the table.
HERO calls [$43]

** Dealing River ** [ 7h ]
HERO checks.
Pluk30 is all-In.
HERO calls [$164.76]
HERO shows [ Kc, Kh ]three of a kind, Kings.
Pluk30 doesn't show [ 4c, 8c ]a pair of Eights.
HERO wins $503.52 from the main pot with three of a kind, Kings.

I think I'm done with my blog, since I don't exactly want to post all my big hands anymore as I'll be playing a lot. I figure I'll just post trouble spots and fun hands in this forum from time to time.

Run well yall.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

1, std, but your comments put him OOP (chck/call; lead) when he is in position.

2. is either pure spew or a perfect read

3. NH, obviously you can play it much faster if you want, but slowplaying is fun too. It woudl suck if river was 7d

Written out like this, Hand #2 looks bad. According to your data on him you are smoked here. All you are beating is a bluff of course. But hey, if he had some timing tell that struck you right gotta go with the gut I guess.

I like the other 2 hands.

It was just one of those things where ppl with a hand usually just fire out another bullet.

He took like 15 seconds then bet 100$. Felt to me like he was trying to draw a line in the sand or something.

I notice you seem to check the flop a lot with strong hands? Or do you tend to check the flop in general.
Check out the new blog!!!

I check lots of flops either to set up a pot-control/underrep my hand situation or to not get bet off the best hand by aggressive players. It's part of my overall strategy that I won't bore ppl with right now.

The flop play in hand 3 is very unusual for me, it was just a feeling I had at the time...
