I am real rusty and just started getting back into the game since the US ban. Please help me right the ship.

Hand #1: Villain is 40/17 and is running pretty good in a limited sample. What can I do to maximize value on river?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($27.20)
BB ($28.45)
UTG ($29.25)
MP ($22.75)
CO ($18.45)
Button ($5.05)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, 7.
3 folds, Button calls $0.25, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($0.75) J, 8, A (3 players)
Hero bets $0.75, BB calls $0.75, Button raises to $2, Hero calls $1.25, BB calls $1.25.

Turn: ($6.75) 6 (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, Button bets $2.8 (All-In), Hero calls $2.80, BB calls $2.80.

River: ($15.15) Q (3 players, 1 all-in)
Hero bets $6, BB folds.

Final Pot: $21.15

Hand #2: Button is same villain as hand #1. Thought I could get one villain all in with me. At this point any raise would pretty much get us all in, do you think I should raise to $10 to beg for action? I'm not willing to smooth call and go 3 to the flop.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($20.70)
Button ($33.60)
SB ($24.75)
BB ($25)
UTG ($14.20)
MP ($10.70)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K, K.
2 folds, Hero raises to $1, Button raises to $3, SB calls $2.90, 1 fold, Hero raises to $20.7, Button folds, SB folds.

Final Pot: $26.95

Hand #3: Villain standard Tight player no real reads. I didn't raise river b/c I wouldn't like to call a re-raise. How do you play river?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Button ($37.05)
SB ($22.30)
Hero ($23.95)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7, T.
Button calls $0.25, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($0.75) 8, 2, 6 (3 players)
SB bets $0.75, Hero raises to $2.5, Button folds, SB calls $1.75.

Turn: ($5.75) 6 (2 players)
SB bets $1.25, Hero calls $1.25.

River: ($8.25) 4 (2 players)
SB bets $3.75, Hero calls $3.75.

Final Pot: $15.75

Hand #4: Just sat down so no real read. I didn't like the hand when he started betting the turn hard, but I put him on a worse Ax. I figure AJ+ raises PF. This is probably a river fold?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($10)
Button ($3.40)
SB ($39.15)
Hero ($25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, T.
2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to $1, SB calls $0.75.

Flop: ($2.10) 9, 4, 5 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($2.10) A (2 players)
SB bets $2.75, Hero calls $2.75.

River: ($7.60) 8 (2 players)
SB bets $5.5, Hero calls $5.50.

Final Pot: $18.60

just my .02

hand 1...fine, not much else to do.

hand 2...pf-RR to $9ish and hammer the non-A flop.

hand 3...calling is fine (i guess) w/ only T-high and a paired board. especially when the villain doesnt respect your raise and bets into you again. may even fold here with a better read?

hand 4...may be A4/A5, but how can you tell? may be 45 or another random 2 pair, may be nothing...if i have the SB and i get the Ax and folded to, i bust a raise on you here...may not even be an A you are up against here, but still, i call here w/ no read, but i agree i prolly lose the hand to 2 pair. i personally cbet psb on the flop here, though, and that may take care of the A4.

again, just my .02
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
